She challenge herself to make cutting on a book, making her face, and her dad´s faces. The book is a old art book, about great paints. The idea was make a gift to her father, to him accept she is doing art students.
And this made me think this project now, is to my mother, a gift, or a simple way to her, accept I´m growing up and I love live in differents place, mostly big citys, and I don´t wanna go back to home anymore, I think this outcome is a good representation, I want she llok at and undertand more easy my choices´s life.

Lau told me I could have permission to take this photo and speak about her piece.

This animation was inspired in the opera and the play, a revolution, creating a new piece using drawings, and exploring the music. Walt Disney always liked to use music in all films. Is the most important addition that will be made to the picture. It can do more to bring a production to life, to gibe integrity, style, emphasis, meaning, and unity that any other single ingredient.
In the battle scene, where has a battle between the dragon (maleficent) and the prince, the music is really loud, the idea was to represent the scene with no dance or sing, but the music put emphasis in the all battle. This scene influence myself, because is a good example of represent a music but with out gesture, just the drawings, couldn't stop. They have to move, mainly the prince, he had to flows with the sounds. And also we can see a climax when the lightrin make the same sound of the music.
Maleficent was designed to be softy, elegant, do gestures with calm. Making a connection with the dragon, who the design was made like a snake , with the intentional to be almost a dance.
So I can reflect, each character has different design, thinking with the music. Connecting two worlds. the hearing and the vision.
The music influences, in the concept also, which was design inspired in the France churches, and the colours

Sleeping Beauty.

Fantasia is a exemple of representation of music, using animation as skill. The studio has created different narratives, with unusual characters and contexts, just been inspired for the musics. This piece influence me, because is a classic which I have watched my all life, and didn’t know why causes me the feeling of relaxing and reflecting, the classics styles, could be always used, and can creates new concepts inside, is a diversity world. Creativity don’t have limitation in this piece.

And I can analysed how they explore the sound to make emphasis scenes, for example, when the music has a big sound, which created attention to the hears, they put some big gestures to flows with it, and the visual has the same intensity.
Analysing those narratives:
The Nutcracker, by Russian Tchaikovsky. For the film, the designers decided to depart from the obvious and created a representation of the seasons using fairies, flowers, mushrooms, fish - it's one of the parties visually beautiful film, and more like a choreography.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice, created by Paul Dukas and inspired by a poem by Goethe, the excerpt shows Mickey in the role of a sorcerer's apprentice who wants to learn the tricks of his master ahead of time.
Curiosity:

was the first movie ever to be released in surround sound, because Walt Disney was keen that the movie audience could feel like there was a movie orchestra playing live

Fantasia 2000. Also the camera shoots, was reflective to take angles, where we can feel we are in the character eyes, even with fast shots, and no details part, we can understand
what's the goal, a murder.
The music, is not really a music, is more repetitive sounds, like screams. This movies had revolt the history of cinema, which, a experimentation, where Hitchcook liked to manipulate the audience using not just the sounds - what causes more intensity with the viewers - but also, the mini details, like, the water from the showers, going to the camera, but the camera still dry.

This animation is about the river em Sao Paulo, which is really polluted river. And the musicality is predominately, and I have talk with the screenwriter's students, he told me, the screenwriter wrote this history in homage to river, and he believes in ancient history, where he made a ritual with the Indian tribes, who have told him, that in his previous life, he was being drowned by the river. All sounds used in the animation came from the rituals, the river mixed with city's sounds. He make a piece not just for him and the connection with the river, but also to Sao Paulo be more careful with the river. This animation was created by the sounds, and has the connection with the screenwriter history.

This animation was made by paper, the methods was with layers, and took the lines to pretend be the subway window, and gave the idea the landscape is passing. I liked how they created this landscape, using paper and shapes, really easy to, I like because represent the minimalism, and showed a narrative. A random narrative, where someone could be travelling to somewhere, and has a context with the music. The video was asked to the music compositor, so is representation where we can list the music, and reflect about our narrative. The directions we are chosen.

Francescoli, K.

Moonlight is a classic example of a good perspective about sound and angles. The director always think about the idea he wants to transmits with the images. In the swimming scene, is my favourite one, where the mainly character is swimming with his friend. At that scene, the camera is to close, almost in the water, gave the idea we are inside of the water looking at them, and the classic music is used to represent is a self moment to the character, where he's growing up to next chapter, as baptism in the water. This scene influence me, because the actors are representing the music, just acting, no dancings. They are putting us, into the scene, feeling ready to next scene.

Moonlight. (2017). [film] Directed by B. Jenkins. At figth not just with the tutor, but him. The film is about music, and how can be demanfding, mainly jazz, a style who has huges rules. And the all films is passing with in round of 3 music, but is exploring it, in details bits, like in the link scene, where the drummers aren´t find the perfect timming with music, and the music is loud and repetitive, putting emphasis in the tension and pressure from the teatcher. Almost madness, and breaking, bleeding the hands.
This movie tells about not just the music, put the artist pressure. But i did this personal primary research, whichi he showed at me this CD, when he was experiments strigns instruments, and he started to produce music and inveted a friend to help to finish the composition and record this to tranforme into a CD. Their process is really experimental, they liked to analyze which instrument is best to the music, and what sound could improve the all compostion. They took sounds from Cicada insents, flutes from vietnam, and sounds from places. In the end of the project, invented two illustrators to make the cd design, and they listened the music when produced the drawings.
Now a student from theater had listened, and he´s producing a play for try to transalate the musics.
This cd influenced me because tells about the process of music maker, and how music touch the people, with sounds from animals, rains, nature. The reator promotes a experience with instrumental music - a already experimental process, sounds mix, from places, people, talks, and unusual instruments - where i list the music, when I'm drawing something, also experimenting a different material, exploring a new skill. Something interest, is how in the experience we are detach from drawings, collages, paints we made, because another person can arrive doing something inside the previous drawings. Also the range of material, material which are almost finishing, and we enjoy this end part.
This project, made me realise what I was doing, was primary research, because I'm listening to a music and the same time paint something, even if I do not want to represent the music, the music go to my mind using my movements unconscious, and representing what I feel or intepreted.

Made the public always not just read what is about which comic, but how is the process, and the beauty inside the produce parts. It´s like a homage to the artists and writers. But for me, a reader of comics, the best part is to read the comics and appreciates the drawings. What was more interest and challenge me, was to take references from everywhere, not just in animations movies, can be from pieces, artists, people, much I can explore. Also I reflected, he's old, and just now he got he own styles, is for this, is so important drawn a lot and experiment different styles and traces, resulting which one translate my own language. What I think, is doesn't matter if the styles is more realistic or not, is important if represent more expressions and if the presentation - colours, design, aesthetic - is well done.
Of course Olivier's styles is amazing, but what made me think "thats guy is really good" is how complex is his process and how he resolves this process using drawings.

Tossan, O.

this animation about capitalism life style. Represented by man in frames, how life works based on our work.
But this animations has a unusual skill for the time, a mix with collages, but what draws my attention is how the animation with no dialogue can express feelings or actions for example when the character is moving the arms and the head with the mouth, but don't have any world, we can assumed he's making a speech. Also how the music influences this process.
Influence me because music can represent/express, but I have to consider how I'll do with no dialogue or words.

Khitruk, F.

I went to this studio of 4 artists, a not big space, but amazing how the artist resolved this space problem well.
Arthur Ranold decided to leave for abstract experiences after a curious fact in his atelier.
In addition to the human agglomerations, the "masses" of the title also gained a translation in Arnold's own technique, which left aside the brush to create images full of oil paint overlays.
I liked how he play with city context and try to represent it with oil, but not painting, but with the shapes and ink mass. What I liked more, is how he resolves problems, for example he made a little example with not to much ink, for not wast the ink, since he work a lot with It.
And his table represent how we make the mixing colour.

The exposition at IMS(sp), it’s about the photographer Claudia Andujar, who was dedicated to the people of Yanomami. In the exposition we can see a lot of portraits represents the people life, and she take pictures with no artificial light what’s make he work more interesting because which photo she has student different lights, and angles to represent them in the best way. She’s a activist photographer, her intentional was to shows how is this people make to survive, telling about Brazil problem, the demarcation and the military’s problems. Who don’t respect this people.
The photos are amazing, the way the exposition in displayed looks like screen, like tv. And the mostly photo are in Black and White, but those wich are colourful, are great, because the landscape is already beautiful and she got the perfect light and colour.
In the end, has a big room where has displayed some screen where the photos pass with the same rhythm of the sound, as a show. This is a good reference to take attention, like to think about the music and the photos with the music. Also the screen and how was projected, how they did to have the perfect size.

IMS, Instituto Moreira Sales, Av. Paulista 2424, Claudia Andujar.

If I want continue living in Brazil doing animations, and this movie is really experimental with acrylic and the aesthetic is unusual where they are not really worried if is realistic, but with is harmonic with the aesthetic of work with acrylic. The idea of the movie is not about be realistic but take values to another styles. Like me, I want to work with coar textures.
Also the story, about fear and desires. The animation has a critique about the politic in Brazil, but more fantasy for the kids. Is sad how the Brazilians
don't go watch this piece.

Tito e os Pássaros. (2019). [film] Directed by G. Steinberg. Inside out is about a young girl who is obligated to move out from her city to a new one, where she don't have friends or establishment . The climax start when she can't express herself or speak about her, because she is to sad but don't wanna disturb her parents. This movie touch me because we say is kid movie, but is more Than this, is about depression and whats happened when we don't express ourself, losing our mind. This movie inspired me to understand about my emotions and why is so important to express myself somehow, for example using art. Also this movie represent the emotions in character what became more amazing.

Inside Out. (2015). [film] Directed by P. Docter.

I went to studio terreo, a stop-motion animation studio, where I could acess to all process to porduce the animations, was a great a opportunity to me, understand how is the start point of producing and how is end.
In the studio is split in 3 parts, first one is the film part, where has all scenography and the making of, for examlpes the cameras and spots. This part is amazing because is the result of every process, is the final outcome in process.
Also has the making part where stay the machines which make the body of the muppet, each part what was caculate really well, and the chief of the studio told us how work and how much is to make all this process, he gave good advices about calculate also. In the last part is the is the modelling, and I have the luck to see a muppet in process, with clay, what was interest how is make, using a drawn for reference, from the character. All this made me reflect how is the process to been in studios, how I´ll work in the future, and wich part I want to work with. But also made me understand the process of creating and methods to produce what they wish, for example they use garbage to make elements of the scenography or part of the muppets. I wished to ask more about the animate part, but ther animator weren´t there, so I couldn´t ask about animate with music, what method could I follow.

Studio Terreo R.

I went to an artist studio, Luciana, who work with oil painting and abstract figures. Her process is amazing, first at all she has collection of shoes, painting of shoes, many of them, she passed 8 years paiting them. But when she explaiing her work, she talks about music and how her pieces are noising, a mix of differents sounds, She meet herself in this pieces, exploring dark mood, but don´t means she is sad or dark, in fact she´s really happy with her mood, what´s mean it´s fine be strange for the public. After she explaned to me when she was doing a residence, where her tutor told her to produce a music, even if she don´t know how, but everything came from a poetry from her father. I´m really identify at her pieces, how she translate sound into her painting, and the connection with her father. Of course she got a unusual result and totally different than me, but I think is important has differents styles to look, to understand the mine in the end. Also she explained the music process, she tooking sound from places, and creating new sound start to her voice.
Well in the end of the visit, I explained what I want to do, about my all process, what was good because she gave me more references and new artits to contact, for example an artists who made a animation with his paintings, and another artists who work with pipes and music.

Luciana´s Studio, Rua barao de Itapetininga 255, cj 1303

Synesthesia is a rare neurological condition that leads stimulation in one sensory pathway to trigger an experience in another. Basically, a short-circuiting in the brain that enables such strange phenomena like perceiving letters and numbers as inherently colored (color-graphemic synesthesia) or hearing sounds in response to visual motion. More than 60 types of synesthesia have been identified, with one of the most common being the cross-sensory experience of color and sound — “hearing” color or “seeing” music.

These neurological eccentricities, however, can often be a source of tremendous artistic inspiration. Today, we look at three mesmerizing near-synesthetic ways of experiencing sound and color.

brainpicking. 2019. Synesthesia Spotlight: 3 Visualizations of Music.

This is a classic video for animators who wish to work with music, I never catch the attentio how this video influeces me, of course is really harmonic and beautifull, because everythinh flows so well, for example the colours, black and white, and when the sounds change or add new voices, more colours are added also. But the thing which is more hipynoses the public is when aren´t more the string doing the waves sounds, but is when the shorts and random animations starts and don´t stop, because need to flows and follow the music. Inspire to me to reflect about my timing, and hot can I take tottaly attention, with no stops.

youtube. 2013. Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? (Official Video).

The installation reacts to those who watch it. When the audience moves around it they influence the movements of the rope, generating visual and acoustic sound waves from harmonic patterns to complex ones. The installation uses two motors to oscillate a length of rope creating a visual reminiscent of a digital waveform while creating it’s own whipping hum from the motion of the rope cutting through the air.

This installation made me reflect how could I take attention for the public, to reflect about my own space in the exibhition.

At this part, is a range of videos, differents videos from the concert, where I could see how the musicians works in the stage, how they are connected, and more interest is how they have fun, but a fun which the public can´t understand because is how they play the music, I think just the players know, this part made me be more curious about this relationship, how they integrate and how the music connecting them.
So I have the recording audio, in the testin day, where they talk and discuss about how the music will flows, what style they want follow. Knowing my father, he likes to creates new styles, mixing jazz, blues, with Brazilian styles, but at this concert he tottally changes to rock, with beatles, mixing with differents bites.
What was interest in the testing is how they don´t read the cordes, they just heard and try to combine the instruments into harmony, a really intuitive process. This videos will help to undertand how each intruments works, and when each one will be more loud, how works. When I was recording this, I could see the musicians kicking the foot to the floow, and I talked to my father who explained to me, the foot is a guide to the musicians to perceive the sounds and counting the pauses. Also in the video just with my father, there were I could talk with him about music and how does work. He gave me a lot of teatching about brazilian styles, how the music had changed here, and how complex is our music.
This all process helped me to be in contact with music and the musicians. To acomplish the big fact and combine with my animation and exhibiton

Zadar Sea Organ

Zadar’s incredible Sea Organ, designed by local architect Nikola Bašić, is unique. Set within the perforated stone stairs that descend into the sea is a system of pipes and whistles that exudes wistful sighs when the movement of the sea pushes air through it. The effect is hypnotic, the mellifluous tones increasing in volume when a boat or ferry passes by. You can swim from the steps off the promenade while listening to the sounds.

This design are relate to my project because the architect planned with pipes transforming into music, and represent how the music changes when the waves shocks to the organ. This represent a differents style of music production.

Lonelyplanet.com. (2017). Sea Organ | Zadar, Croatia Attractions.

When I watched this video, I realized is an atypical method to produce an animation, using just animatics, or key frames to demostrate the scene. In some scene we can see the drawings moving. This a different and more funny way to use animation as a source to represent music, mostly this music where the bits are more emphatic. I never ever watchet the animation, just listed, and today I could undertant more the music and how the animation helps the public to acomplish the video.

YouTube.

O This illustration is my favouriste by Raúl Ariño.
Raul used to mix different skills and drawn ordinary scenes. What draws attetions is because of this mix of skills ( water colour, ink, pastel and acrylic) and his unusual drawings with no proportion, give the scene another mood.
For example at this one, the paper is not white, and Raul used black ink do produce the scenography and fines traces to the characters, what is not so precise to produce ordinary scene . In the bottom is not really visible to understand what happen, but we can understand is out of the window and is city because of the colour of the paste. Also the red water color producing the light and shadow is fantastic, and shows using less can gives the mood, a minimalist way somehow. This shows how this contrasts of usual scenes with different techniques can be useful to produce a concept.

Jilian is an famous illustratos who works with differetns concepts but my favourist one is that in "this one summer" where I feel that Jilian work really well with the digital and is amazing. The way she use a simple pallets and work with gradients, tell how monochamatics colours can be useful for differents perpesctives.
For example in this one page of the comic, she mixed differents movements from the same character, giving the idea of character are smmings. The body are really unique.
