This is suggested based on the fact that is predicted by many polls. For example Monmouth University Poll indicates that the majority of voters (49%) will go to Amy Kennedy. In addition to this, Public Policy Polling also came to the same conclusion, finding that a majority of registered voters (48%) supported Amy Kennedy. The fact that multiple polls suggest that Amy Kennedy will win indicates general agreement among the US population. While opponents may argue that the small sample sizes from the polls do not accurately reflect the New Jersey population, one should consider that a variety of other polls mirrored the results that Monmouth University showed. The fact that a variety of polls suggest that Amy Kennedy will win is another strong piece of evidence. For example, ALG Research, another public opinion poll, displayed results (41% favorability) that are similar to Monmouth University Poll. This is important because it leaves less likelihood for bias, and increases accuracy of data.

    We predict Lizzie Fletcher to win the Texas 7th Congressional District election, though it is close. Polling has gone back and forth in favoring one candidate versus the other, and all leads have been within the margin of error. We are giving Fletcher the advantage for two reasons. The first reason is her incumbency, which gives her a financial advantage over her opponent, Wesley Hunt. The second reason is that the district will most likely vote Democrat, as seen by the fact that it voted in Fletcher over John Culberson in the previous election, and according to cookpolitical.com, the district is labeled "likely democrat." An opponent could argue that Hunt could just as easily win as they are both tied in terms of opinion polls, and that Texas is a majority red state, or Republican state. While it is definitely possible for Hunt to win, there are multiple reasons as to why he wouldn't. Harris County, where District 7 is located, is one of the few blue counties in Texas not on the Mexican border, due to its diversity.
