         <description><![CDATA[<div>The hydrogen bomb was first&nbsp;tested by the united states in 1952 it was the first of its time and it was more powerful than the atomic bomb and it had given the united states the lead in the arms race. but the soviet union shortly tested their own hydrogen bomb the next year. The hydrogen bomb only made the arms race more deadly than it had to be.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>the arms race was a competition because both sides trying to make better weapons than each other. this caused more and more effort put into the new creation of weapons.<br><br>it was also them trying to get more power than each other. by seeing who could find new weapons and who could make them better.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>lastly it was seeing who had a better military than each other. by proving who could find it first and who could say they had more of it. </div>]]></description>
