Even though the brother (Nnamabia), the troublesome of the family has constantly been associated to crimes or mischievous acts. The sister (unnamed) feels unregarded and not as important as her brother in her family, she senses that she is not seen as importantly as her brother seems to be. The first event that was explained in this story was her brother who robbed their own house and acted as if it was a criminal (stole his mothers jewellry and sold it), the father figure was not happy however the mother did not sees to defend him. Then he was associated to a crime with cult members in the university, sent to jail where he suffered and did not have the best experience. His mother regularly visited him, through the important figure of Nnamabias father they had the ability to visit him faster and he was released once again.

In this story Chicka is visiting her aunt in Kano with her sister. They are at a market and all of a sudden a fight breaks out in the market due to a christian man running over a holy Quaran. A religious fight breaks out between the christians and muslims. Chicka hides in the store where a women is, the women and Chicka are very different in the way they dress, and look.  The women has a burning nipple and shows it to Chicka who offers her advice that her nipple will be ok. Chicka starts bleeding and the women takes off her hijab and wraps it around her leg. This shows the humanity between the two women. The global issue is religious conflict causing violence and seperation. My favourite extract is "Burning-burning like pepper," she says, cupping her breasts and leaning toward Chika, as though in an offering.". This shows how much trust the lady puts in Chicka (pg 5 pdf). Edward, the elderly British man who picks her up from the airport, is anywhere from 65 to 90, with an upper-class accent and teeth the color of mildew. At the airport Edward asks whether Ujunwa minds waiting for the Ugandan man who is attending the retreat. They make small talk, and Ujunwa mentions she didn't have to ask for leave to go to the workshop because she had just lost her job in banking. Finally, the Ugandan arrives.
