Temples were a very important part of ancient Egyptian religion. Each temple they built was dedicated to a certain god so each god could be honored. These temples were so important that most Egyptians couldn't even step foot inside! The pharaoh and priest were really the only people who ever entered the temples since they were the most important members of society in ancient Egypt. A lot of times ancient Egyptian temples were guarded by traps so no unwanted people could get inside.

Priests were very important to ancient Egyptian societies because they maintained the cult of the gods which means they pleased them and ensured that they were happy with ancient Egypt. Egyptians thought that if the priests pleased the gods then Ancient Egypt would be successful and prosperous. Without priests, Ancient Egypt might not have been as successful, because priests did a lot of things for the societies.

Religious myths influenced the lives of many Egyptians. The myths they told were usually very old and passed down from generation to generation. These stories usually had to do with famous gods like Ra (The sun god) and others. The myths usually told stories like famous battles between gods and how the gods helped or didn't help ancient Egypt. The also may have taught people lessons. For example The Destruction of Mankind shows how humans angered the gods and how it's important not to.

The Egyptians held many festivals and did many rituals to support and satisfy the gods. These festivals were for all citizens, but no one was allowed to go past the courtyard where there was access to the rest of the temple. The festivals were fun and full of people, but they only happened a couple times a year.
