Please, for the sake of my family, send some food. I was a slave for a cotton plantation before the Civil War. Now my wife and I are lucky to find a spare loaf of bread to help feed our two children. We are scared that our children aren't going to grow right if we don't feed them well. Please help. Clothes would be nice, but not mandantory.

Life hasn't been the same since the war ended. And it hasn't changed for the better either. Managing the cotton has never been harder. All of my slaves done got up and left. And I couldn't even whip them for leaving. Even better, I had to give up some of my land to a black who couldn't even pay for it. And now, after the 15th Amendment, these blacks have a say in political fued's. I hate to say it, but America is going to ruins.
