The Willow projects.

In March 2023 , Biden approved the controversial Willow project. This project is about a massive oil drilling venture that is located on Alaska’s north slope. The plan is to hold six hundred million barrels of oil(CNN Politics,2023). That would take years to reach the market since the projects have yet to be constructed. Since Biden has given the green light to this project, a majorly controversial situation has arisen. The Erath Justice, Environment Law Group, and Native Americans confidently disagree with this project due to the environmental impact.

In my opinion, this project is complicated, as we know it would bring a lot of benefit to the states, but on the other hand, even though it has many advantages, it also comes with disadvantages. So, I do not agree. I strongly believe that the planet Earth is the most important thing in our lives. This causes too many problems, like climate change, pollution, and the destruction of animal houses. Three million people are against this idea, which has created a community to stop the willow projects.

Dalai Lama furor reignites Tibet 'slave controversy.

This incident appears to have taken place at the Dalai Lama temple in Dharamshala on 28 February 2023.The Buddhist leader has faced widespread criticism after a video surfaced showing him telling a boy to suck his tongue. The video of him telling a boy to suck his tongue went viral on many platforms. The Dalai Lama has since expressed regret, but still, his actions show the behavior of accusing him of inappropriate behavior and child abuse. Slavery normatives on social media have been discussed, including the lack of rights held by ordinary Tibetans before the country was annexed by China in the 1950s.

Based on what I think His action was completely wrong to ask a young innocent boy to suck his tongue for me it seems like he takes advantage of religion toke that as an excuse , and he is an old man who knows exactly what he was doing. There is no point in defending him. He should been have punished for sexual harassment, but in his reputation, it doesn’t matter.

Why money will not be enough to address Japan’s baby crisis

Japan is facing one of the world’s major demographic crises, with the number of annual births dipping below 800,000 for the first time in 2022(Why Money Will Not Be Enough to Address Japan’s Baby Crisis, 2023). The current birth rate of 1.34 is well below the 2.07 necessary to keep the population. Japanese women are having children later in life, worried that motherhood will end their careers.

Japan is one of the power states in the world, but this problem is a major one for Japan due to the fact that their population is becoming lower and lower, which might impact the whole country, such as their low tax base, slow economic growth, lack of human resources, and the increasing number of elderly people. based on my opinion Japan should attract more foreigner to live in Japan by providing social benefit and financial support. This might help Japan to increase more population since foreigner they would likely to to have kids or the best way they could conduct policy that value the woman by reduce work hours, encourage and negotiation.

Malala won the Nobel peace Prize.

Pakistani child education activist Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian child rights campaigner, have jointly won the Nobel Peace Prize. The teenager was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in October 2012 for campaigning for girls' education. Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her fight for the right of every child to receive an education. She was born in the Swat Valley, Pakistan. When the Islamic Taliban movement took control of the valley in 2008, girls’ schools were burned down.

In my perspective toward this case is that Malala came from a lower-middle-class family, but she doesn’t give up on her dream, most importantly, she focus on education. She was living in an environment full of sexists, but she didn’t give up. She fought for her rights. She spoke for human rights, such as the rights to education for young girls that were banned in her country. She got shot in the head for speaking up for human rights. Her encouragement gives us hope to stand up for ourselves no matter how hard life has treated us or how society has treated us. Everyone deserves to live an equal life. She has written several books to inspire people as well.

Ukraine war: Kyiv hit by multiple explosions in Russian bombardment

Russia has launched a wave of air strikes on Ukraine, causing multiple explosions in Kyiv and placing the entire country on alert. The region of Lviv, bordering Poland, was also targeted, with one of the cruise missiles entering Polish airspace. The Ukrainian military claims its air defense systems are engaged in repelling the attack. Around a dozen Russian missiles have been destroyed over the capital and its vicinity, with no reports of casualties or major damage. Poland has also reported its airspace being violated by one of the cruise missiles launched by Russia. Residents in Kyiv are taking shelter in metro stations.

Everybody should be careful before doing anything that might be dangerous to people. Instead of being unprofessional and careless, the war should have been stopped since it happened for years and caused damage to the world and human violations.The intention of joining Nato by Ukrain should be demolish because not only that the world suffer from one particular war and thier citizen as well. To consider the comparative advantages. It isn’t worth what it has caused.

Russia and China veto US resolution calling for immediate cease-fire in Gaza

Russia and China have vetoed a U.S.-sponsored United Nations resolution supporting an immediate and sustained cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. The measure was criticized as ambiguous and not the direct demand to end the fighting that much of the world seeks. The vote in the Security Council became another showdown involving world powers locked in tense disputes elsewhere. The United States took criticism for not being tough enough against its ally Israel, whose ongoing military offensive has created a dire humanitarian crisis for the 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza. The resolution reflected a shift by the U.S., which has found itself at odds with much of the world as even allies of Israel push for an unconditional end to fighting. Russian U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia criticized the diluted language, calling it philosophical wording that does not belong in a U.N. resolution. He accused U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S(Lederer, 2024).

This is another power struggle in United Nations security.

Relecte:The UNSC keeps showing the facts that they can handle any situation in any term since the past unit. The Veto Power still plays an important role in the fever of the P5 countries, not only in the Gaza case but in the Ukrain case as well. If this power is still exerting itself in today's society, the powerful parties still rule the world by their power and self-interest. The United States should have redefined the power dynamic of P5 veto power and promoted inclusivity in the UN.

How can gender equality reduce poverty?

More women than men are living in poverty globally, with over 10% trapped in extreme poverty. This poverty is fueled by discrimination in the world of work, limited access to resources and financial assets, and deep-rooted stereotypes that limit women's participation in education, decent employment, and decision-making. Gender equality is a powerful catalyst for reducing poverty and driving sustainable development. By ensuring equal access to opportunities and decision-making for all, societies can create healthier and just economies.Generation Equality Action Coalition on Economic Justice and Rights has changed women's lives through global initiatives and programs. In 2022, Generation Equality mobilized USD 32 billion for economic justice and rights initiatives, supporting more than 440 programs working to address economic injustice. Boosting productivity through access to quality jobs for women is essential, but simply guaranteeing work for women is not enough. Investing in skilled, decent jobs for women has broader benefits to society that promote gender equality and drive sustainable economic development.

Re: From a scale from one to ten, woman will always be 10 in term of hardship, limitation of speech, unequal representative, the right to press themselves. They will always work harder and still get critics from surrounding environment. The large amount of woman are being underestimated by world even if they have so much potential by tackle the unequal representative of woman would definite fostering the world poverty.

Myanmar won’t be allowed to lead Association of Southeast Asian Nations in 2026, in blow to generals

Southeast Asian leaders have decided that Myanmar will not take over the rotating leadership of their regional bloc in 2026, despite Western governments condemning the ouster of Aung San Suu Kyi's democratically elected government. The Philippines agreed to take over the chairmanship at an ASEAN summit hosted by Indonesia, confirming the group's commitment to a five-point plan for restoring peace and stability in Myanma(The Associated Press, 2023)r. Myanmar's Foreign Ministry rejected the ASEAN statement as biased.

From what I think, Myanmar still remain as a human right violation state. Even if in previous ASEAN meeting Myanmar agree to stop exerting in human right violation, but the action are not being shown and also in the Cambodia ASEAN meeting Myanmar didn't show up stated that the party weren't care much about the value of ASEAN by giving the next chairman meeting another state is the absolute right thing to do.
