The Wright Flyer was the product of a 4 year program of research and development. After they had built and tested 3 full size gliders, their first flight flew at Kitty Hawk, North Caroline on 17th December 1903, the flight was 12 seconds travelling 36m. Their accomplishment encompassed the breakthrough first flight of an airplane but they also achieved the foundation of aeronautical engineering. The Wright Flyer influenced the airline industry by inventing a three axis control system which allowed them to steer the aircraft and guiding the way for the aviation and space exploration. the first powered flight designed by them opened doors to multiple advances in transportation and evolving the nature of aviation.

The Junker was known as one of the most significant warplane of the 'Great War'. It fulfilled roles as it was designed as a low level contour fighting, tactical reconnaissance and contact patrol. In 1924 Junkers aircraft became the most important airline in the world with multiple successful airlines around Turkey, Persia and South America. In 1925 about 40% of the world's air traffic network was flown by Junker's aircraft.

Hans von Ohain of Germany was the designer of the first jet engine and the credit went to Englishman Frank Whittle. He was registered a patent for the jet engine in 1930 and received the recognition but didn't perform a flight test until 1941. The Jet engine revolutionized air travel, they helped to build bigger and more productive airliners. This also enabled airlines to reduce their operating costs and their airfares.

The Concorde was a supersonic passenger-carrying commercial airplane. It was built in the 1960's as part of a joint venture between the UK and France. The Concorde was the first commercial aircraft. only 14 Concorde aircraft went into service before it retired by both countries in 2003. The Concorde first burst onto the aviation scene in 1976, the Concorde cut the length of a journey from London to New York to just 3 hours. Concorde was not a commercial success, it was expensive to operate and maintain and the cost of tickets was beyond the reach of some people. However the retirement of the Concorde marked an end of an era. this helped the industry to move towards more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly aircrafts.

The B747 is a large commercial jet airliner aircraft which is used for both passenger and cargo carrier. The Boeing 747 first flew in 1970 with Pam Am and was the first plane to be dubbed a 'Jumbo Jet'. It was the first wide body aircraft ever made and was two and a half times the size of the Boeing 707. The 747 made its first flight for airline in 1970 and could carry more than any other aircraft for 37 years until the Airbus A380 was introduced. Europe is the biggest region for 747's currently in service. British Airways are the primary operators of 47 along with Lufthansa, Korean Air and Atlas Air. The 747 cut the cost of transporting a passenger in half where pricing became attractive and more people could fly. The 747 was made for an efficient people mover between major cities and hubs across the globe.

The Airbus A380 is a large wide-body airliner that was developed and produced by Airbus. it is one of the world's largest passenger airliners and is a double deck aircraft seating 525 passengers but can seat 853 passengers at maximum certified capacity. due to the size and capacity of the A380 it has enabled airlines to carry more passengers and cargo than ever before. This has led to increased competition in the aviation industry as airlines can now offer more flights at a lower cost. The airbus A380 has also helped to reduce air traffic congestion due to them being able to take more passengers onboard one plane. It has also made air travel safer due to its increased structural strength and improved safety systems which has enabled airlines to provide better safety for passengers.

The Boeing 747 Max is the fourth generation of the Boeing 747. it is a series of narrow body twin engine jet airliners, designed and produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. As of May 2019, 387 aircrafts have been delivered, logging over 41,000 flights and flying over 6.5million passengers. Primary users include Southwest airlines, American airlines and Air Canada. The Boeing 747 Max was grounded worldwide in March 2019 due to two fatal crashes. This had a major impact on the travel industry with airlines cancelling flights and loosing revenue. Due to the planes being grounded it also led to a decline in the Boeing's stock prices and a decrease in the company's production rate. The grounded was lifted in November 2022 with new safety measures and software updates. However some passengers are still hesitant to fly on the aircrafts.
