First of all, we could rent bikes to move around the reserve, we took photos to make an album together, we did some birdwatching and played a game trying to remember the birds names afterwards.

After parking our electric car, we started to explore the 8.8 miles long hiking trail, all together talking about the beauty of that park. 

Located to the east of La Jolla Rose Canyon Park is a good opportunity to have contact with nature. Also this is a place with a lot of history since the area was seasonal for the Kumeyaay who where the first people in San Diego where they used to camp and do many other activities. 
From the very beginning you feel the air getting into your lungs and when we get into the track we notice that there was a variety of plants and beautiful flowers. But not only that because on our way we also had the chance to see raccoons, skunks, rabbits, coyotes, foxes and mule deer.

One thing that surprised us is the flexibility this place has since you can choose to walk or hike that are means of transport that contributes to the preservation of our environment and fits with good practises as human citizens.
Another important thing to consider is that along the way we found a creek which was really clear and it must be maitain like that. During the hours we spent there we were astonished and we felt in peace. We highly recommend you to go and give hiking a chance. We are always learning and a new place is a new oppportunity to learn.

We decided to go there in our way to San Francisco, because we discovered it would be the perfect spot for us to learn more about how to live in urban areas in the most eco-friendly way possible. There, we had the chance to participate in workshops, we could visit their own edible gardens where they produce the majority of food they consume. And the residents (they are 30 to 40 people total living in the neighborhood), invited us to spend 2 nights and learn as much as we could from them.
