Yumi tries to balance this, studying for a major test, the family restaurant failing, and balancing a rocky relationship with her parents and sister, until it all comes crashing down. She ends up saving the restaurant with a great idea, and mends all the relationships that she jeopardized. 
Yumi's biggest flaw was a lack of confidence, which lead her to continue lying to her parents, teacher, and new friends from camp. Through the wise words of her parents, tutor, and camp instructor, Yumi builds confidence in the end, and learns to communicate her feelings much more effectively.
