Taught how to straight stitch to show we understand how to use a sewing machine and are safe using it. Given a sheet which has all safety cautions on that needs signing to prove we have been taught by miss and understand it. To improve I would have tried to stay on the line as much as i could though it was difficult because we had to stitch on paper not fabric. I chose Steven Higginson and his artwork "Nina" It was Beautifully done and captured all the fine details in the reference photo the nurse sent in. I chose this because it caught my eye straight away from all because of its realism but obvious painting. I would improve this research by inspecting more about the piece as I found it hard to see what the original artist and nurse had to say about it. I would improve this by planning better as the product didn't come out great but if I could have planned I think it would have turned out better. Start with a square piece of paper the created a design pattern on tracing paper then transfer on to the square piece and repeat it three times in the middle, Cut down between the pieces making sure not to cut through any of them. Place opposite end together then tape on one side, repeat the pattern until the whole page is covered. Remove masking tap and place back together originally. To improve tis I would have chose a more difficult design to do and taken less time on it. First get a Stencil, Draw the outline transfer to another piece of paper to cut out. Get board and place paper under it then stick the stencil on the under side of the screen. Place a line of paint at one edge of the screen press down then use squeegee to drag the paint from one end to the other several times. I would improve this by making sure my stencil is flat and all pieces are in place with a bit of water.
