Vision: Navajo Technical University provides an excellent educational experience in a supportive, culturally diverse environment, enabling all community members to grow intellectually, culturally and economically.

Philosophy: Through the teachings of Nitsáhákees (thinking), Nahátá (planning), Īína (implementing), and Siihasin (reflection), students acquire quality education in diverse fields, while preserving cultural values and gaining economic opportunities.

 Our process is collaborative; ownership belongs to the communities we work with.

Once developed, materials are distributed as the community wishes.

The Native American College Fair began in 2013 as a way to bring colleges, universities and training programs to Twin Cities Native American youth and their families. Our in-person event allows students to have meaningful conversation with representatives about college life, courses, admissions, and financial aid requirements. Although a website does not allow for these immediate conversations each school and financial aid profile contains contact information for a representative.

As we have since 2021, we have required that colleges, departments, programs, and financial aid programs be Native American specific or offer Native American specific supports. Examples of Native American specific supports include student programs, degrees, student centers, elders-in-residence programs. Focusing on these schools and programs will allow future Native American college students to connect with the schools that currently offer culturally specific supports.
