Step 2: The top photo is of the sky with orange and darker colors. The clouds are kind of in the shape of a spaceship. The horizon is grey-blue with light orange clouds streaking through. There are trees and branches but they are black and can only make out the outline. The sky is full of blue, orange, and black color ranges. The second or bottom photo is similar to the first, but the sky is shades of purple and the horizon is pink fading into light purple. The trees and branches in the foreground are black and the outline of them is all you see. 
Step 3: The artist uses color as the element of design. The top photo has a range of blues, grays, oranges, and black. The sky is all of those colors. The bottom photo has purple and pink color ranges in the sky. Each picture has many color ranges adding to the overall quality of the photos and an affect of unique sky colors.
The artist uses  unity as the principle of design. Taking two sky/horizon of different color ranges and putting them together as one creating unity. Each photo represents similar scenes, but in different color ranges. However, they compliment each other by being different. The photos "agree to disagree" with the colors in each photo not going together. Creating an interesting comparison of photos. Together they represent the same aspect of the sky as one.
Step 4: The artist is trying to show beauty in the sky/horizon with the demonstration of similar images with different color ranges. Nature can be seen in different shades and ranges of color depending on the person. Each photo communicates calmness, but the viewer can choose which is calmer to them by the color ranges. 
Step 5: The final product is a unique representation of the sky/horizon. The top photo being orange and blue color ranges, while the bottom photo is purple and pink color ranges. Combining the two very different, but very similar photos was a cool idea and interesting. I wonder what it would look like if the top and bottom photos were switched?
