This quote shows us the Gatsby is willing to take the blame so that Daisy doesn't have to face the consequences. She may have done the deed but Gatsby is willing to take on the aftermath because he would do anything for her.

These two quotes shows us how Jordan is comfortable in her own skin and loves who she is. To some, it's enduring the pain that we receive from our partners because to us, that is what we know love is. It's receiving the blows to the face, the punch in the stomach or the slap we get that makes us think, this is what grounds my love to this person. It's that we have to endure the pain because the love we have for them is too strong.

These two quotes from the novel shows us that Daisy would take beatings to just be with Tom. Her love for him was worth more than the pain he could deliver.

This quote from the novel shows the emotion between the two characters because it is almost like something you see out of a movie where past lovers remember how long it has been between them. Gatsby, as you read in the novel, has been waiting for years to see Daisy so that he could have her and with a stable life. His love for her never died, he was just getting it together to fully present it to her.
