I completed a degree in Tourism at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre.

I'm currently studying at the UAveiro for a master's degree in Tourism Management and Planning. 

My favorite things to do in my spare time are play video games, travel and drink coffee on a terrace with friends. The little things are the most important for me! My family is what I value most in my life. 

I dream to one day open my own business and my personal dream is achieve financial stability to build my own family.

What: 1. Financing cultural, educational and leisure trips for orphans once a year.

           2. Give them cultural knowledge and promote diversity. Encourage interaction between regions/countries through educational activities, visits and games.

           3. Allowing tourism for orphans in order to help combat the negative impacts they have experienced on their physical and emotional health and mental development.

           4. Offer the same opportunities as other children and help integrate them into society.

Where: Initially, the project will be restricted to orphanages in Portugal and the trips will all take place within the country.

As the project grows, we plan to expand travel all over Europe. In other words, we will be working mainly with Portuguese orphanages, but they will have contact with orphanages in the travelling destination, in order to increase cultural contact between the children.

Why: Tourism is now seen as an essential activity in a person's life.

Getting to know new cultures, learning new habits and languages, realising how diverse the world is, full of opportunities and adventures is extremely important for society's personal and collective development.

We want that they can have the sames opportunyties as others and we know how important is to encourage them to pursue a fulfilling life.

Knowing new people and new places will give them more opportunities when they leave foster care after turning 18 in society or when adopted by a family.

• Focus on the mental health of these children;
• Try to raise awareness about the importance of the diversity of cultures and sustainability.
• Develop each person's individual identity through culture and leisure;
• Give them tools to achieve their autonomy through educational and therapeutic support;
• Make them realize that the world is full of opportunities for everyone.

Among the various specific points of this measure, the one that best suits the big idea project is "by 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic or other status".  

This objective is the start of our project, our big idea. To develop this work, we tried to choose a topic within inclusion that wasn't so obvious or so developed and perceived by the population. In this way, we came to the conclusion that the sub-theme of this project would be children in orphanages.
