Joanne Rowling is an outstanding British novelist and screenwriter. She won multiple awards and sold more than 400 million copies of her books. Harry Potter is the best-selling book series in history.


Joanne Rowling was born on 31st July 1965 in Yate, England. Jo wanted to be a writer from an early age. She wrote her first book about a rabbit at the age of six. At just eleven she wrote her first novel about seven cursed diamonds and the people who owned them.

Jo conceived the idea of Harry Potter in 1990 while waiting for a delayed train. Over the next five years she began to map out all seven books of the series.


When she has completed the full manuscript she sent the first three chapters to a number of literary agents one of whom wrote back asking to see the rest of it. The book was first published by Bloomsbury Children’s Books in June 1997 under the name J.K. Rowling. Six further books as the first one were achieving record-breaking success. The film based on the first book was released by Warner Bros. in 2001. J.K. Rowling’s digital company “Pottermore” where fans can enjoy news, features and articles as well as content by J.K. Rowling was launched in 2012.
J.K. Rowling made her screenwriting debut with the film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” in 2016. This new adventure marked the start of a five-film series to be written by the author. This announcement shocked all of her readers and now they are patiently waiting for new incredible stories.

He is widely known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Queen. Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen, including “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Killer Queen”, “Somebody to Love” and “We are the Champions”. While performing with Queen, he led a solo career as well. Mercury was born in Tanzania in 1946 and grew up there and in India before moving with his family to England, in his teens. He formed Queen in 1970 with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Mercury died in 1991 at age 45 due to complications from AIDS.

Over the course of his career, Mercury performed an estimated 700 concerts in countries around the world with Queen. 

As the first major rock star to die of AIDS, Mercury's death represented an important event in the history of the disease. In April 1992, the remaining members of Queen founded The Mercury Phoenix Trust and organized The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness, to celebrate the life and legacy of Mercury and raise money for AIDS research, which took place on 20 April 1992. The Mercury Phoenix Trust has since raised millions of pounds for various AIDS charities.
