This would be a good assessment for when the students read an informational text. They write in three things they learned about a reading they did, two questions that they still have after reading and one opinion that they have on the subject they read about. Use their questions to create an extension lesson to clarify the topic.

Each student would have a set of flash card and you would ask questions about different topics or ideas and they would answer by holding up the card that matched their level of understanding on a topic. For students that don't understand, you create some type of secondary lesson.

As you read through you can take note of the misconceptions that still exist and follow-up on the next lesson.

It gives the students the opportunity to draw out what they have learned and write a little short sentence or even a little hashtag to give a quick explanation of the understanding. The picture here you could use #planetsorbitsun or #Earthhaslife.

Similar to door slap - you can laminate and reuse this version instead of using a new sticky note each time. The students can write their questions or understanding on the ticket and deposit it in a little raffle box (you can have a box for different subjects so that you can pull them by subject to assess and make adjustments to the next days plans). Once you've read through them you can erase them and have a clean ticket for the next lesson.

There are five different sections that the student could fill out (you can choose the number of spaces you want to students to fill out based on time allowed).
