At the age of six, Frida fell ill with poliomyelitis, causing her right leg to become shorter; this was cause for ridicule. However, this did not prevent her from being a restless and tenacious girl. At the age of 18, on September 17, 1925, Frida had a tragic accident. The bus he was traveling on was run over by a tram. The consequences for her were serious: several broken bones and spinal cord injuries. Due to the immobility to which she was subjected for several months, Frida began to paint. Her works revolved around her life and her own suffering. Thus, he is related to several artists, including the then already renowned artist Diego Rivera.

Both shared a taste for Mexican popular art with indigenous roots, Proud, Frida wore them elegantly. Her hairstyles with multicolored ribbons, natural flowers, filigree earrings, silver and opal rings, as well as amber necklaces and other ornamental stones, amazed people in our country and abroad. Frida's costumes were like her paintings : colorful and surprising. She was the author of 150 works, mainly self-portraits, in which she projected her difficulties in surviving.
At the age of 46, Frida's health deteriorated. Some of his doctors decided to amputate his right leg. A prosthesis was recommended, which he never got used to. To move from one place to another, he resorted to a wheelchair.
In her diary, Frida draws a winged being, and writes a phrase to remember: feet, why do I want them, if I have wings to fly

In the painting "Wounded deer" or "I am a poor little deer", Frida identifies with a fawn pierced by nine roofs, a reflection of the pain that accompanied her for life, and which she fought like a brave woman. On July 13, 1954, Frida Kahlo died in the blue house at the age of 47, considered a pop icon of Mexican culture to this day.

I decided to talk about Frida because I greatly admire the strength she had both physically and emotionally, since she was considered an ugly person and received a lot of offensive comments, which never mattered to them, I also admire a lot since for the time in which she lived and being a woman, she did what she wanted with her life without caring what they could say about her in society.
