The Balfour Agreement of 1917 helped the Zionist group officially declare a Jewish state in Palestine. This then caused a big upheaval of many Palestinian lives out of their homes. This then caused the Jewish population in Palestine to rise exponentially as it went from 9% to 27% in 13 years. This then started the Israel-Palistine conflict.

This was because the U.N. was trying to protect the Jewish people that were in Palestine. After all, the British Mandate was about to end and might've caused the removal of Jewish people. This then later caused Arabs to attack starting the Arab-Israeli war.

The Yom Kippur war was a war over the the fact that Israel was in control of the eastern bank of the Suez Canal. The reason that they went to war with Egypt and Syria was because Israel had taken land from them and they were trying to get it back. It was also a way that there was peace between Egypt and Israel. Soon after the war though Prime Minister Meir resigned and a rightwing government was elected for the first time in Israel. Israel had won this war by disabling portions of Egyption air defenses which let them surround the third army.

The attack was on more than 50 Americans who were working in the U.S. Embassy. This was a big problem for Israel because one of their biggest allies were fighting a different battle so they could not defend themselves from the Arab countries that surrounded them at the time.

The Annapolis Confrence was a confrence to try and revive the peace process between Israel and Palestine. The original object was to restart the negotiations between the two countries. This would also result in a Palestinian state if agreed upon. This would ultimatley fail though as both countries can't make an agreement with eachother.

The Israeli military says that the casualties would be much higher than they are in the current state of conflict. Although it helped reduce the death total it has been in much use in recent events but could eventually kill thousands.
