These Witches Don't Burn-by Isabel Sterling

These Witches Don't Burn is a Young Adult/Fantasy Fiction novel, by Isabel Sterling. It tells the story in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts of a teenage witch dealing with the normal drama of high school (like her ex dating someone new, figuring out which college she should attend, dating someone new), but also with the drama of a rival coven that may be coming to town to kill her and the rest of her family/coven.
If you are interested in the supernatural, LGBTQ characters, on your edge suspense of "What is going to possibly happen next?!" and mystery, this is the book for you. The main characters are relatable even though half of them have supernatural abilities. This is the first book in the saga--it sets the reader up for a modern-day battle between supernatural forces.

Blue Dolphins splash in the water surrounding it, sea otters play in the kelp beds, and seabirds roost in it's crags. Once, Indians also lived on this island- until one day they decided to leave and sailed to the east, a young girl was left behind.

Hey, Kiddo is a book about the author's life growing up. His mom was a drug addict and his dad was never really in his life. As his life progresses, he learns how to drive and he starts reconnecting the missing pieces of his life. He finds his dad and reconnects with his mother. I would recommend this story to people with a similar lifestyle: drug addiction, living with grandparents, drawing or making art to cope with pain, etc.

Diary of A Wimpy kid The Meltdown is pretty much about a huge snowball fight. Greg’s mom made Greg and his friend Rowley go outside to play in the snow. They tried to go back inside and Greg's mom locked them out. They ended up building an igloo but they realized they forgot to build a door. They started freaking out so they broke out of the igloo to get fresh air. But once they got out they got attacked by some neighborhood kids that live on the other side of the street and attacked Greg and Rowley with snowballs. They ended up making a fake flag and had all of the kids on their street make a fort and have war with the other street kids and had a snowball war. They had blocks of ice covering each side with icicles sticking out of them. Long story short Greg's side lost because someone betrayed them. But it wasn’t much of a loss. More kids from other streets started going to the fight and it was an all out brawl.

Seventh Son, by Orson Scott Card

Now you might know I'm a bit of a fantasy geek, so when I picked this book off the shelf I was completely elated.

Hang on as I geek out.

Seventh Son isn't a questing or adventure novel, which I was able to live with, because the magic you would see in D&D are present here (it's kinda why I like those types of things.). Charms, hexes, and whatever galore run rampant, but are still subtle in their everyday life.. This is actually a story about a young boy, even though it starts out with a girl, (who is also magic, and is one of my favorite characters,) and this boy has powers. He is the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. A jack of all trades, but this time, master of all. Basically, he literally controls and can shape the world.

Now, if you like any of the following, this book is most likely for you.

Fantasy: This book is fantastic, and Fantasy. As said above, magic, prophecies, all of it. The magic could be good, there is magic that is evil, and sometimes there isn't any magic but people just assume there is!
Orson Scott Card: Orson is a really raw writer. He writes what happens, and he writes it well. Be ready for him to amaze and/or disgust you. He is also the writer of Ender's Game, which is my favorite book hands down. This is a close second.
Historical Fiction: This actually takes place in 1801. Sure this is a little different, but the French is here, the British are here, all the things you learned about in 5th grade. It doesn't focus on it, but it's a nice setting that separates it from many other books.

Haddix Among the Betrayed by Margaret Peterson

This book is a realistic fiction that takes place with a scarce supply of food and the government killing kids because they made it illegal for there to be 3 or more kids per family. The kids that live even though they are illegal are called Shadows and they are persecuted their entire lives. In this book which is the 3rd book of Haddix is about a girl named Nina who does horrible things to survive. Her boyfriend is not an illegal child and he tries to trick illegal children into turning themselves in. He gets caught and tells the Population Police(PP) that Nina was the ringleader. He is executed and the officer in charge of her prison asks her to betray little kids who were able to make fake id's on how they did it. She gathers information on three kids and stays in a cell with them for days but instead of betraying them she steals food and someone is poisoned causing enough commotion for them to escape. They go hide in the woods and she starts stealing food from a garden. She gets caught stealing food and the little children save her. She confesses that she was going to betray them and then she learns it was a massive ploy to see if she could be trusted. The officer and the guy who was poisoned were actors and she would have been killed if she betrayed the children. If you are interested in books for feminist dominance then this is the book for you. I didn't really like it and thought the one where Lee breaks in and saves his friends from death by killing people is better. I would give this book a 4 out of 10

This book is a wonderful fantasy novel that brings to life the falling kingdom of Narnia. This is the last book in the series and is the perfect ending to the numerous heroic adventures. The main characters are King Tirian, Jill, and Eustance. The balance of the kingdom is altered when a crafty ape creates a devious plan. He finds a lion skin that looks like the skin of the Lion King Aslan. He decides he will trick the Talking Beasts into believing something only the eyes can see. He puts the skin on his poor donkey friend Puzzle and together they wreck havoc. The Ape pretends to act as the interpreter of the fake Aslan to gain respect and power throughout the kingdom. At the same time, invading forces swarm through the madness, using the ape's trickery to their advantage. The odds are not in their favor and our heroes know it. They fight the last battle ever fought on the old world of Narnia. This story is full of tales, battles, and adventure. I highly recommend this book (although you should read the other one first). This book opens your eyes to this reality and is the real definition of fantasy.

-Ethan Ahn

This book was about a girl named Nikki Maxwell and she was in middle school. In this middle school she tries to fit in and make some new friends, but this popular girl named Mackenzie is making it hard for her. Mackenzie is rich and judges people based on what they wear and how they look. Mackenzie basically makes fun of what Nikki wears, her hair, and etc. I like this book because it was very interesting and it made me want to read on. Also, this book highlights things that can happen in real life.

The main protagonist, Ji Ho misses the deadline to apply for dorms and manages to find an apartment nearby. While settling into his new apartment, he gets attacked by a robber. This robber seems to enjoy the book Ji Ho wrote while he was in high school, and asks for him to continue the series... in exchange for living in his apartment. I selected this book because it seemed entertaining to read, and I was able come along to their adventures. Personally, I enjoyed this book. Snail Pond Robber would appeal to young adults, as it shows Ji Ho’s hardships through college, and the friendships he creates with his classmates.

Golden by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a fiction book. The main character Lissy James moves from California to Oklahoma and she finds herself in the middle of the worst teenage nightmare, a social scene to rival a Hollywood movie. Lissy has some weird super power and they call it Aura vision. Well Lissy's Aura Vision is getting harder and harder to hide. If she is not careful with the power she has then she might hurt herself or other people. Lissy can see more than the average girl but then she learns the hard way and things aren't always as they appear.
I would recommend that a person who is interested into supernatural and mystery books should read this book.

The book Out of my Mind is a realistic fiction novel. It is about an eleven-year-old girl named Melody. But Melody cannot write, talk, or walk. She has billions of words stuck in her mind. Most people think that Melody is not able to learn. But she is actually really smart. She wants to tell people stuff but she can't because she can't talk or write. Until she discovered something that lets her speak. She is finally able to speak.
I did like this book and I recommend this book because it is very interesting and explains how important words are and how it would be a struggle to not be able to talk, write, or walk

Thou the plot may seem boring Into the wild which is also part of Multiple books telling the story, is a very enticing story telling the story of a pet cat named Rusti's (his name changes in between books) adventures also between books the pov changes to different cats telling there stories. i feel the type of people who would like to read this , are people who like to read fantasy and adventure type books.

Heartland One Day You'll know by Lauren Brooke.

This book is about a 15 year old girl named Amy Fleming. It is the 6th book in the Heartland series. Amy's mother died and Amy can't face the thought of having Thanksgiving and Christmas without her mom. Her Grandpa is getting sick and he has gone to the hospital. Lou, Amy's sister, is flying to England to find their father. Amy is left at home with Heartland's two stable hands, Ty Baldwin and Ben Stillman and Marnie, Lou's best friend. She went to Grant's party where she hurt Matt's (one of her friends) feelings because she said she didn't want to be his girlfriend. Then she shared a dance with Ty. Amy is starting to like Ty more and more. But, she doesn’t want to because Ty has always been like a brother to her. I choose this book because I have been reading the series since 7th grade every assignment. People who would enjoy this book would be people who are interested in animals and drama. This book is definitely one of the books I will recommend to any middle schooler or high schooler.

This book is a demigod, half god half human talking about the Greek Gods and the stories about the. This demigod, Percy Jackson gives a great young and funny POV to Greek mythology. Many Gods are included in this book about who they are and what they do on this Earth. This book is great to read if you want a great laugh but also want to explore other peoples belief from other parts of this world! I enjoyed this book very much and I would recommend it to young students who want to learn more about mythology.
