Jasmine desired to live outside of the castle walls and explore Agrabah. However, she soon found herself getting married to a man over two times her age against her will. Consequently, Jasmine made a great plan to escape and live off of the people she has never meant before. So, she made a plan to a group of streetrats on how to end this land of misery and into prosperity. Then, they were able to work the plan out perfectly for everything and everyone at the castle to believe them. Finally, they were able to save the city of Agrabah and rule the country for years to come rightfully.

The lamp was a huge part of the story because of who was inside. The Genie inside helped Aladdin and Jasmine defeat the evil ruler and save the land. This lamp symbolizes hopes and dreams.

Because Jasmine was used to living in royalty, she never had to do anything risky or dangerous. As she met Aladdin, her point of view about courageous and daring things. Jasmine had to learn about being sleek and flexible. She let fear take over herself whenever there was a slight change of plans, but soon convinced her self to get over the fear. For instance, when Jasmine had to jump a great distance from another building so that she wouldn't get killed for her actions.

The main lesson that I have learned throughout reading this book is to always be thankful for what you wish for. When you are never grateful for what you have, and are always wanting more, then your desires will soon get out of hand. Jasmine had always wanted to get out of the castle, or never to be forced to marry a man. Aladdin had always dreamed of being in the castle walls and having everything he needs. Jafar had taken it too far with his 3 wishes. As the 3 wishes led to terrible danger, Jasmine soon realizes that living out of a castle isn't what she had truly wished for. If they had failed their plan, the kingdom would be lost forever.

Jasmine vs. Jafar (External Conflict)

As Jasmine is forced to marry Jafar, she runs away from the palace, in fear, and hides from Jafar for almost 3 months. Even though she should also be ruling, she would have no power mentally and physically to rule a kingdom. Since she has ran away, she figured out that living on the streets was way better than living with Jafar. As her team defeats Jafar, they are able to never live in fear again.

"Magic is only as great as the mind controlling it" (Braswell 269). This quote was said by the genie to Jasmine to help her understand that not every wish is worth granting. Jafar is controlling the whole city of Agrabah just because he had finally had power.

Even though Jasmine was treated so terribly and unwelcomed, she learned to make friends and to forgive easily. I can connect to this because as a Christian, it is our job to forgive those because not only is it the right thing to do, it is expected of us by Jesus.
