Imagine a classroom full of 25-ish children, some with own laptop, some work in pairs. They have code club instructions to work through, they have volunteering parents to help. Most amazingly, they help each others.
Our year 6 classes are ran trials for this to be taught during class time; the (non STEAM) teachers were amazed at how quickly they took to it, learned from each other, learned from example projects online; and how easy it was to "teach" the kids. Well they really taught themselves after the first hour!
- Sally Eberhard
The 3 of them usually works together, 2 sharing a computer; the lady at the back is one of the parent.

Early Learner Explores Youth Tech

I updated computers this Wednesday for our youth gamer and coder groups. With wide-eyed interest, the one-and-a-half year old son of one of my employees spent two hours in my office exploring iPads, digital stories, and computer basics with minimal guidance from me. He learned from the activity, context, and culture of modern technology. This young man now knows how to power-on computers, use a mouse, and navigate educational videos on YouTube ... all by exploring by himself!
-Matt Barabash
