I believe Michael Crowe was too emotionally distressed when questioned making him more nervous during these interrogations. When questioning an individual it’s important to talk to them when they are stable and not emotionally vulnerable like Michael Crowe was. During this time his sister was just murdered and when people try to pin something on you that you didn’t do especially something this serious they will try anything to defend themselves. Michael was also a minor during this time and not letting him be aware he can have a lawyer or parent by his side is very wrong because he felt alone. When somebody’s emotionally distressed they’ll do anything to try to calm themselves down but these detectives wouldn’t allow that to happen and instead they kept questioning him almost pressuring him. Like I said when somebody’s emotionally stressed they will do anything to calm themselves down therefore Michael Crowe probably thought if he takes the fall everything will end. At the same time they kept lying to him about certain things so it didn’t make him look innocent so I’m guessing Michael Crowes mindset was they are already finding evidence against me and I can’t be found innocent. Therefore I think that’s why he confessed to a crime he didn’t do. Did they pressure him absolutely I feel when your dealing with an emotionally distressed person or child you should give them breaks to collect themselves instead of going hours and hours in questioning and lying to him. Yes, I believe he should get rewarded in some way and I’m glad he did. Going through something this stressful especially as a kid can scar a person and give them trauma. This can also lead to them shutting down when asked about anything they did wrong in general. Therefore, Michael Crowe was treated very harsh in this situation.

I believe that he was treated unfairly because the interrogators mistreated, lied to, and manipulated into confessing a crime he did not commit.
