19 Mei 2025 marks the beginning of my practicum session at MRSM PDRM for the DPP program, which will last for 12 weeks.

I am at the end of my semester 1 here at this college. For this semester, I have been assigned to teach 5 classes which includes Form 2, 4 and 5. The total number of teaching hours is 31 hours per week. I am teaching Mathematics for Form 2 and Additional Mathematics for Form 4 and 5. Its quite hectic but I enjoyed every second of it.

For this week, I am teaching Circle for Form 2. I made my own slides using canva to enhance their understanding towards this topics. The technicality of this topic is quite simple as it only has two formulas. But the students often confused. I made slides for them just to further enhance on the usage of both formulas. They liked it when I asked for reviews. I am quite happy with the feedback. As for Form 4, I teach them Indices, Log and Surd. They are many formulas in this topic. I made sure I teach them using their learning pace in order to not overwhelm them. I also told them that I would make 3 mini quiz for this topic to ensure they give their full cooperation during class. Some of them did quite well in quiz but some just seems lost. I called them during recess for intervention slot and teach them at a much lower pace. As for Form 5, they learn Linear Programming this week. It is quite a challenge to teach this topic, So, for Form 5, the students are divided based on their last Addmath's marks and they are grouped into Set 1,2 and 3. I got the Set 3 students. They struggle with this subject but I always told them that I believe in them. So the topic of Trigonometry is a challenge for them. I made sure to go slow and give easy examples to make them understand easier.

As for other activities, this weekend I had to teach Addmaths to 8 Form 5 students. I teach them every Friday 10am-12pm. I also teach them during Intervention Class every Sunday and Tuesday 5:30pm until 6:30pm.

This week our college celebrate Teacher's Day and it was fun to dress up! I got a lot of presents from my beloved students which I appreciate deeply. It is a great feeling to be appreciated doing what you love. :)

This week was my second week of practicum at MRSM PDRM. I’m always learning how to improve my teaching and connect better with my students. It’s a busy week, but I’m enjoying the process.

For Form 2, I taught 3D Geometry. I focused more on problem-solving questions this time. I gave them worksheets that started with easy questions and slowly got harder. Some students still got confused, so I did small group activities to help them. I was happy to see that they were starting to understand better.

In Form 4, we continued with Logarithms and Surds. I tried something new this week — I used Padlet and asked students to post their answers and explain how they solved the questions. It was fun and they liked seeing each other’s work. I also gave them the second mini quiz. Some students did well, but a few still struggled. I gave extra exercises through Google Forms to help them catch up.

Form 5 was still learning Kinematics Linear. I’m teaching Set 3 students, so I know they need more support. I used triangle models and short videos to help them see the concepts clearly. I also stayed back after class to do revision with them. They’re slowly improving, and I’m proud of their effort.

Besides teaching, I had a lot of other activities this week. O

On Tuesday, we had a retirement ceremony for Cikgu Faizah. It was a touching moment and I felt lucky to be part of it. Starting Wednesday, the students went home for their mid-semester break, but I still ran TutorMu sessions for Form 5 on Wednesday and Thursday.

Even though the week was packed, I felt good. I managed my time well and still gave attention to students who needed help. I’m starting to see small improvements in their learning, and that motivates me to keep going.

Altough I am excited for school holiday, I do have plenty of work to be done. Oh well, let me have 1 or 2 days to myself first! :)

Semester break its over!

This week was the first week after the mid-semester break. It felt good to be back in school and see the students again. Everyone looked refreshed, and I was excited to start new topics with all my classes.

For Form 2, we continued on Chapter 6: Geometry 3D. The students were quite interested in this topic because it involves shapes they can see and imagine. I used real-life objects and 3D models to help them understand better. They enjoyed the visual part of the lesson, and some even brought their own examples to class. It was a fun and interactive week for them.

For Form4 and Form 5, they have Ujian Amali this week so we do not have class.

Besides teaching, this week was packed with school activities. On Monday, I attended the Academic Excellence Briefing and a special session with the Principal. I also had night patrol duty with Cikgu Salshaheda. From Tuesday to Friday, the school ran Gerak Gempur sessions, which kept everyone busy. Geral Gempur is a program where stuudents have to do revision to prepare for the big exam. I also joined the Leadership Engagement Session, AGM BWP, and monitor the Gotong-Royong Asrama on Friday as I am a warden. After that I went to class to teach Addmaths, as per usual. On Saturday, we had Motivasi Perdana 1, which was a great way to end the week with positive energy. For this week's homeroom meeting, we had a picnic! The students were super happy eventho I just brought bread and ice cream!

Even though it was a hectic week, I felt productive and fulfilled. It feels good to be back!

This week is the Week 5 of my practicum.

For Form 2, we began Chapter 7: Koordinat. I introduced the Cartesian plane and explained how to plot points using x and y values. I used graph paper and simple examples like treasure maps to make the lesson more fun. The students enjoyed plotting points and finding locations. Some of them struggled at first, but after a few guided exercises, they got the hang of it. For this topic, I used the CleverMath apps for the student to understand easily. The students are all so excited everytime I incorporate technology.

In Form 4, we're still in the Progression topics. This week I teach about Geometry Progression.. This topic is quite technical, so I made sure to go slowly. I used real-life examples to make it more relatable. The students were focused and asked good questions, which made me happy. I told the students that this topic is very crucial for SPM as it is easy to get marks. The students seem motivated to learn this topic.

Form 5 continued on Index Number revision. It was a challenging topic, especially for Set 3 students, but I reminded them that understanding takes time and effort. I’m proud of how they tried their best.

This week, I also had a Homeroom meeting with my students. It was a nice break from academic work. We talked about their goals, how they were feeling, and what they needed help with. Some students opened up about their stress, and I tried to encourage them and remind them that they’re not alone. I always want them to feel supported.

As conclusion, this week was meaningful. I always enjoy teaching and meeting the students. As I teach more, I’m learning to be more patient and creative in my teaching, and I’m grateful for every moment in this practicum.

Week 4 of my practicum at MRSM PDRM was another busy and meaningful week. The students were slowly getting back into their learning rhythm after the mid-semester break, and I was excited to start new topics with each form.

For Form 2, we have Gerak Gempur. We discussed back other chapters to recall the student's mind. I made them to sit in the mentor mentee group so that it will boost their motivation to ask questions to their frinedsa. They were curious and asked a lot of questions, which made the class more lively.

In Form 4, I introduced Progressions. At first, they were unsure about the difference between arithmetic and geometric progressions, so I used real-life examples like savings and patterns to explain. I gave them short exercises and guided them step-by-step. By the end of the week, most students could identify and solve basic progression problems confidently.

Form 5 started doing past year papers.. This topic Index Numbers was a bit abstract, especially for Set 3 students. I used simple examples for tyhem to understand, for example basic algebra. This is to make the transition from non-linear equations to linear equations seem easier. I also gave them a few hands-on activities to make the concept more concrete. They were trying their best, and I appreciated their effort even though it was challenging.

This week was also packed with school activities. On Sunday, we had a staff morning meeting, followed by the Pelaksana meeting and Mesyuarat Gemilang T5. I also had night patrol duty. Throughout the week, there were Gerak Gempur sessions and Semester 1 MA exams, which made the school atmosphere more intense. I attended Dialog Prestasi sessions for Biology, BM, and Physics, which gave me insight into how other subjects were progressing.

On Friday, we had Kawad Kaki, Gotong-Royong Asrama, and Usrah Puteri, which brought students together in a more relaxed and community-focused setting. These activities helped build teamwork and discipline among students.

I also had a Homeroom meeting with my students this week. I brought nasi lemak for them. They are happy to chat with me while eating. It was a good chance to check in with them, talk about their progress, and remind them to stay motivated. Some students shared their worries, and I tried my best to encourage and support them.

Overall, this week was tiring but fulfilling. Can't wait for next week!

Week 6 of my practicum felt like a turning point. The teaching routine is now familiar, but the workload is starting to pile up. Between preparing lessons, attending meetings, and handling extra duties, I found myself feeling a little overwhelmed. It’s not that the teaching itself is hard — it’s the juggling of everything at once that’s starting to take a toll.

For Form 2, we continued with Chapter 7: Koordinat. The students were getting better at plotting points and understanding the Cartesian plane. I gave them some fun activities using graph paper and coordinates to “find hidden treasures,” and they really enjoyed it. It was nice to see them engaged and working together.

In Form 4, we moved into the next chapter: Solution of Triangles. The students were able to follow the steps and apply the transformations correctly. I gave them a few simple questions first and they managed well. Then I continued giving them a much harder questions. They did well! I didn’t face much difficulty teaching this topic, which was a relief.

Form 5 continued on discussing System of Equations. We focused on past year questions. The students were more confident this week, especially after doing a few guided examples. I was happy to see their progress and how they were starting to connect the topic to real-life situations.

One of the highlights this week was our Homeroom meeting. Instead of just talking, we did a CSR activity where the students helped clean the college’s garden. It was a meaningful experience — they worked together, laughed, and took pride in making the space look better. I felt proud watching them take responsibility and show teamwork outside the classroom.

Despite the good moments, I did feel tired this week. There were meetings, night patrols, and lesson planning to keep up with. I had to remind myself to take short breaks and not be too hard on myself. It’s okay to feel tired — what matters is that I keep showing up and doing my best for the students.

This week had a mix of fun, stress, and a lot of movement. It’s Week 7 already, and I can feel the practicum flying by. The students are getting deeper into their topics, and I’m starting to feel the pressure — especially with Form 5, since SPM is getting closer.

I’ve been trying hard to make sure my Form 5 students keep up. Some of them are still struggling with last week's topic: Solution of Equations. ’m doing my best to guide them without overwhelming them. I feel a bit stressed, not because they’re not trying, but because I really want them to succeed. I’ve been giving extra exercises and checking in with them more often.

To make lessons more engaging, I started using Bijak Sifir as an induction for every class. Students get 2 minutes to answer 36 multiplication questions, and those who get all correct receive a candy. It’s a small reward, but it really motivates them. Some students even asked for extra sheets to practice at home!

We also had a Homeroom meeting this week, and it was special. We had a durian session together — messy, loud, and full of laughter. Not everyone liked durian (some ran away 😄), but it was a great bonding moment. It reminded me that teaching isn’t just about academics — it’s also about building relationships.

Other activities this week included:

Sambutan Awal Muharam on Monday — a meaningful event that brought the school together.

Gotong-Royong Asrama on Friday

Usrah Puteri — always a calming and reflective session.

Addmaths Tutor on Friday, as per usual.

Overall, this week was full. I’m tired, yes — but also grateful. The little happy moments, like durian with students or seeing them excited over a candy reward, make all the difference.

This week marked the beginning of new chapters for all my classes, and although it was exciting to explore fresh content with the students, I also started to feel the weight of everything I’ve been juggling — teaching, planning, duties, and the emotional responsibility of helping my students succeed.

For Form 2, we started the topic of Speed and Acceleration, and I could see that the students were genuinely interested in how the formulas are all related.

In Form 4, I taught them Solutions of Triangle, which is a more visual and conceptual topic. I used digital tools to help them understand how equations form triangles are formed, and although it took a bit of time for some to grasp the idea, they eventually caught on. I was happy to see them asking questions and trying to connect the graphs to real-life situations.

For Form 5, we began revision and answering past year SPM questions on the topic of Functions. Its an easy topic but most of them have forgotten ways to answer thie questions from this topic. I recalled back one by one. I want them to feel confident and prepared, but I also know that each student learns at a different pace. It’s a constant balancing act between pushing them forward and not overwhelming them.

I continued the Bijak Sifir activity in every class, and it’s still one of the highlights of my lessons. Giving students 2 minutes to complete 36 multiplication questions has become a fun challenge they look forward to. The candy reward for those who get all correct might seem small, but it brings big smiles and healthy competition. Some students even asked for extra sheets to practice at home, which made me feel like I’m doing something right.

For this week, I am in charge of the night patrol on Wednesday. I round all the blocks during night prep to ensure the students are using the prep time wisely. I also give advices to students who are chatting and playing with their phones. Outside the classroom, I monitored the Gotong-Royong Asrama on Friday. It was tiring, but I enjoyed seeing the students take responsibility for their living space. There’s something special about working together outside the classroom — it builds a different kind of bond. I also continued my Tutor Addmath class on Friday morning. The students are slowly improving, and even though it’s extra work, I find joy in seeing their progress :)

This week had its happy moments, like when a quiet student finally asked a question in class, or when a group of Form 2 students proudly showed me their transformation drawings. But it also had its tough parts, like staying up late to mark papers, or feeling unsure if I’m doing enough for my Form 5 students. Still, I’m learning to take it one day at a time, and to celebrate the small wins along the way.

This week was a mix of exhaustion and excitement. The workload is definitely piling up, lesson planning, marking, patrols, and school programs and I’m starting to feel the pressure more than ever. But even with all the stress, I still feel blessed to be part of this journey.

For Form 5, we only have 1 class this week as they are focuing on the Pre SPMRSM. We revised on the Functions topic, same as last week. It’s a repetitive exercises, but I can see it helping them slowly build confidence. Some students even messaged me after class to ask more questions, which made me feel like they’re really trying.

In Form 2 , we continued with their current chapters. Lessons went smoothly, and I kept using the Bijak Sifir activity as induction. The students still enjoy the challenge, and the candy reward keeps them motivated. It’s a small thing, but it brings joy and energy to the classroom.

As for Form 4, I taught them Linear Law. Some managed to plot the coordinates easily but some dont. I emphasize on the scales, plotting and finding the line of best fit. I emphasize to on the marking for this topic. I just want to make sure they can get at least 8 marks and above for this topic.

One of the most exciting parts of this week was when I got to represent MRSM PDRM in a Scrabble competition at MRSM Bagan Datuk, competing with other teachers from different MRSMs. It was such a refreshing experience! I enjoyed the friendly competition, the laughter, and the chance to connect with other educators. It felt good to step out of the usual routine and do something different.

We also had our usual Homeroom meeting on Thursday, where I checked in with my students and reminded them to stay focused.

On Friday, I monitored the Gotong-Royong Asrama, which was tiring but satisfying — the students worked together to clean and organize their dorms. I also continued my Tutor Addmath class, helping Form 5 students with revision and exam strategies.

Honestly, I’m tired. There are moments where I feel like I’m running on empty, trying to keep up with everything. But at the same time, I feel grateful.

Week 10 of my practicum at MRSM PDRM. It’s getting closer to the end and I can feel the pressure building up. There’s a lot to do and sometimes I can get too overwhelmed but I’m still enjoying the process and trying my best to keep everything in order.

For this week, I started teaching a new topic for Form 2 which is Gradient of Straight Line. The students were quite excited to learn about how the orientation of the line can affect the gradients. . I used slides and visual examples to help them understand better. Some of them were confused at first, but after doing a few exercises together, they started to get the hang of it.

As for Form 4, we moved on to Vector. This topic is more visual and I tried to make it easier by using digital tools. I go through this topic slowly as I dont want them to miss on anything. The students were focused and asked questions, which made me happy as I know they focus in class. :)

For Form 5, we comtinued on Functions, again. I just want them to really grasp on the technicalities of this topic. Repetition in Addmath is good as they keep on storing more ideas inside their mind. . I gave them selected questions and we discussed the answers together. It’s getting more intense now because SPM is just around the corner. I feel a bit stressed trying to make sure they’re ready, but I always remind myself that I’m doing my best for them.

This week I also continued the Bijak Sifir for Form 2activity as induction for every class. Students were given 2 minutes to answer 36 multiplication questions. Those who managed to get all correct received a candy, as per usual. I can see that every students love this activity week by week. They really enjoyed doing Bijak Sifir, and some even asked for extra sheets to practice at their units :)

As for other activities, I monitored the Gotong-Royong Asrama on Friday. The students worked together to clean and organise their units. It was tiring but I had fun. I also had my usual Homeroom meeting on Thursday and attended the Leadership Engagement Session. Besides that, I had 2 ESG sessions throughout the week.

Overall, this week was really packed with work and responsibilities. I do feel tired and a bit stressed, but I also feel grateful. I’m learning a lot and I’m proud of the progress my students are making.

Week 11 of my practicum at MRSM PDRM. Time flies so fast and next month, Form 5 students will be sitting for their Trial SPM, and I can feel the pressure building up. I’ve been having classes with them even at night, sometimes until 10:30 PM, including weekends. It’s tiring, but I really hope all the extra effort will help them feel more prepared and confident.

This week we have Majlis Kecemerlangan Akademik for SPM 2024 students. I am really glad to see they spread their wings :) Some have gone to overseas to continue their study. Oh and I also won an award. Its in the picture above!

For this week, there is no class for Form 5 as they have Ujian Bertutur and Amali Saind for their Trial SPM or we called it SPMRSM.

As for Form 2, we moved on to Isometric Ttransformation. I made my own presentation slides using canva to enhance their understandings. I used diagrams and interactive slides to help them visualise the changes. They enjoyed the activities and some even asked for extra questions to try on their own. It made me feel more motivated when students showed their own initiative to succeed.

Form 4 continued on Chapter 8, Vector. I For this topic, I try to go really slow again and I will make sure the students can follow my pace. This is a crucial topic for SPM. I just want them to really grasp the root of this topic. The students were quite responsive and participated well during class. That made me happy.

I still continued the Bijak Sifir activity as induction. Students were given 2 minutes to answer 36 multiplication questions. Those who got all correct received a candy. It’s a simple routine, but it keeps the class lively and competitive.

This week, I also monitored the Gotong-Royong Asrama on Friday. The students worked together to clean and organise their units.

I had my Homeroom meeting on Thursday and attended the Leadership Engagement Session.

Even though I’m exhausted, I feel grateful. I’m learning a lot, and I can see my students trying their best. I just hope all these late nights and extra classes will be worth it for my beloved Form 5 students.

It is week 12, the final week of my practicum at MRSM PDRM.! It’s hard to believe how fast time flies. This week was packed with activities, classes, and emotions. I feel tired, but proud of everything I’ve gone through and achieved with my students.

For this week, Form 2 continued with the topic Transformation. We focused more on Rotation and KBAT questions.. I gave them exercises and guided them through each step. Some students still needed help, but overall they showed good effort.

As for Form 4, we continued on Vector. I introduced the concept of magnitude and direction, and how to represent vectors in diagram form. The students were curious and asked a lot of questions. I also used simple examples to help them understand better.

Form 5 students do not have class with me this week as they are taking SPMRSM this week.

During Homeroom, I celebrated the birthday of 9 students from my homeroom. We had a small party, and they were so happy. It felt good to see them smile and enjoy the moment together. It was one of the most memorable parts of my practicum.

Everything felt more meaningful this week, knowing it was the last week of my practicum. I am forever grateful for this 12-week journey. It wasn’t easy. There were late nights, stressful moments, and a lot of responsibilities. But I’ve learned so much, and I’ve grown not just as a teacher, but as a person. I’ll always remember this experience and the students who made this job feel special. MRSM PDRM is my home and I hope I'll feel this positive as long as I teach :)
