Its about one year ago, since my parents got divorced. I remember that day clearly. I came home from school, and I could hear my parents screaming at each other in the kitchen. It was like a war between cats and dogs, my favorite time of the day. I went out to the kitchen and was just starring at them. They looked up and asked me to go into my room. It wasn’t the first time I was asked to do that but this time it was different. I was sitting in my room and could hear everything they said. I was really sad and worried, I tried to sleep, but I couldn’t. And then I started to cry, I didn’t understand why they were so mad at each other, but I found my teddy bear that helped me stop crying. The next day when I went down to the kitchen, my parents told me, that they were going to be divorced.

It had rained all day, so we’ve been inside all day, how wonderful… all I wanted to do was play ball with my friends.
I had baked pancakes, they were probably the best pancakes ever made by anyone in the whole universe. Or at least my younger brother loved them.
I went upstairs to get my laughing little brother Daniel, but before I entered his room I saw my mom crying on the sofa. I’d never seen my mom cry, it felt so weird. My mom is always happy and energetic, I sat besides her and she told me that she and dad weren’t going to be together any longer. In the begging I hadn’t really realised what had happened and why. But now a year later I feel like it was the best decision for the whole family.

I heard my mom crying in her room, she was almost drowning in her own tears, and my dad wasn’t home. When she came out she acted like nothing happened, and she looked like a melancholy mess, I guess my parents had a big fight. It made me feel helpless as a kitten in a tree, because I dont like seeing my mom upset, and not knowing why. Not knowing why my parents are unhappy makes me unhappy. they never talk to me about it, i wish they would, because i really want to know how they feel. I just want them to be happy.

I’ll never forget this day…I just came home from my first day of school, it was very exiting. My friend came home with me, we were going to watch some TV. Suddenly my parents began to yell and scream at each other. I was embarrassed at that moment, so i decided to set the volume up. Every time, they just shouted louder and louder. Things about their divorce, the divorce that i didn’t know about yet. I went to the livingroom, and when they saw me, they became quit. They just stood there looking at me. “Are you getting a divorce” - I said“Mmm, yes we are…” - My mom said. Before anyone of them said anything else, I ran out of the livingroom. I felt like someone had tramped at my heart a million times. I was ruined, I cried and cried, just couldn’t stop myself. Everything in front of my buddy. It was sooo embarrassing, i didn’t know what to do or say to him. Everyone and everything in the house was just silent. My friend had called his parents to come pick him up, so he went home. That just made me more embarrassed of myself, i felt worthless.
