Began during the 1980s, crime groups had began to create networks in the business of illegally dealing drugs. Routes and tricks were made in attempt to sell and smuggle drugs into, out of, and around Mexico. In 2006, the Mexican government announced a war upon these groups and initiated laws to help stop this problem. At first using violence against these groups. This was later changed in 2012 by president Enrique Peña Nieto to switch into a different solution where the government will focus on improving laws enforcement and public safety. In 2014, a big crime group leader, Sinaloa Cartel’s Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, was arrested for his illegal actions.
