I love reading books in my spare time and expanding my vocabulary. I love the escapism from reading different literary texts (from fiction, self - help book, cult classics) and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

What I especially about reading, is that it elevates stress in my everyday life and is a hobby that I find pure enjoyment from.

I enjoy being able to have my own perspective on texts. I enjoy sharing those perspectives with others to see how they interpret them differently. I am worried about not being able to speak those ideas in a way that is easy to understand for others.

What I like about literacy is reading how people view the world. In saying that, it can often be a challenge, especially when you look at significantly older texts that are harder to read and analyse. My simple strategy is to avoid 'To Kill a MockingBird' and 'Finnegan's Wake'.

I managed to successfully reduce my "Doom Scroll" time quite substantially by replacing that time with reading. This was much easier to do with the help of my kindle as I tend to have multiple books on the go at once and can't carry them all around.

I also enjoy how knowledge of literature makes me a more effective communicator which assists me a lot in my day to day life.

What do you enjoy about literacy?

I love that literature is so powerful, it shapes and transforms people's minds, it's an incredible tool to boost personal growth and self-discovery. It can inspire and destroy and completely change lives. It allows people to see new perspectives on the world, provoke a flood of emotions, and is a strong mode of expression.

Poetry especially, is very beautiful and thought-provoking to me.
