<title>There is 1 Queen bee and thousands of worker bees. Workers are the non-mated offspring of the Queen bee. Both of these bees are female. Workers build the honeycomb from wax made from their bodies. Queen bee lays one egg in each of the cells.</title>

<title>The honeycomb is usually inside of the hive. The honeycomb is used to raise young bees and store food. Honeycombs have six sided cells. Cells are usually near the center of the honeycomb. This area is called the Brood Nest. The same cells can also be used for other tasks. During the summer and spring they are used to raise bees and during the winter and fall cells are available for storing food and honey.</title>

<title>When bees swarm one colony splits into two colonies. This is because half of the colony stays at the hive and helps the new queen and the other half goes with the old queen to start a new colony. </title>
