I had the most disorganized and dysfunctional clinical ever at Martha Jeff. It completely ruined my passion of nursing and I dreaded every second of it. I did not learn a thing and found myself teaching the nurses there. Instead of having a better second option, I was stuck with a Saturday clinical and missed every single weekend event with my friends. I am so disappointed with the UVA nursing program for how much they charge out of staters and what we get in return.

Reimbursement for gas and parking. Ridiculously unfair to have to pay $17 for parking each clinical day in addition to the gas for having to drive to VCU. I cannot afford that

As students of nursing, we often have our classes very early in the morning and they are usually stacked upon each other with a maximum of about an hour in between as a "break." Cafe McLeod made it easy to enjoy ACTUALLY COOKED meals in between classes or right before they start since it was the only student dining within a reasonable vicinity to the nursing school. Many of us starve ourselves until our classes are over to go get something to eat either from home or from the next best place that already has exaggerated wait times, Gaston Food Hub. The replacement of Cafe McLeod with "Daily Dose" has been a major disappointment and caused a lot of inconvenience in our daily routines. No one wants prepackaged snacks and a coffee to survive a class day spanning from early morning to afternoon. Please do hardworking nursing students a favor and bring back our only source of food close enough to grab in our small allotted times between classes.

More in hospital hours and less sim

I heard that they are trying to cut back hours in the hospital and replace them with more sims. Though I understand the concept of sim, I get way more learning out of being on the actual floor. Sim consists of 10mins of talking to a mannequin and 8 hours of sitting around.

Please please bring back actual food/meal exchange in McLeod. Bagels were great. I spoke with Mr. Papas and I understand we were losing money on it so we changed it to Daily Dose, but in that case at least keep Daily Dose stocked. Last time I went for some quick lunch in between lectures and the only non-snack food item they had was Uncrustables, if that even counts. The lady who works at Daily Dose is lovely tho 🩷🩷 but yes I'd love for bagels back :(

It’s a little disappointing how we have to fend for ourselves when it comes to finding carpools and rides to far away clinicals :( it would be nice if they tried to set up a car pooling system, a shuttle, or something to make it less stressful of an experience. It’s the one thing that made me hesitant about being a nursing student since.

I really miss going to Café McLeod in between classes to sit with my friends and get the ABC bagel (my favorite meal exchange last year). My friends also mentioned that they want to have actually cooked meals like we had last year with the bagels and soups of the day. I really do like how we have a little grocery market in the nursing school, but it would be nice to have cooked meals on the meal exchange menu because this is where nursing students go after classes when they are hungry. The pastries are too similar to whisk at gaston.

I miss my warm food!! There’s already so many snack shops everywhere at UVA and the one thing I looked forward to was a nice warm bagel! I miss my bagelssss!!!
