This text is the cover to a bottle of Tajin pepper seasoning. Considering the contents of the seasoning, it makes sense to include peppers in the style of the text. Both the J and I letters have that effect and it immediately gives that idea in a subtle way. Another small detail that I like is how the N stretches around like seasoning over the other letters while maintaining the visual style.

This is a book cover of a young-adult fiction book, a rough translation of it's English name, "Leah on the Offbeat." I think it works well because the story is somewhat grungy and dramatic. The thin, slightly misplaced lines have the effect of something you'd find written on a bathroom stall. Very in-character.

Sharpie is a well-known writing tool brand. The font being bold and in cursive is exactly what you'd expect from something meant for writing, especially in permanent marker. The letters feel strong, and the lines crossing over and ending, like on the letters H and R for example, give the effect that it was written by hand in short strokes.

This text was taken from a Hozier album cover I have. Hozier is a music artist that mostly plays in folk music with a lot of emotion and harsh energy at times. The feeling of the text definitely reflects the music. The elongated and scratchy lines are reminiscent of a forest full of leaves and sticks. It almost creates a lonely feeling with the amount of negative space there.

This text was taken from a water-powered rowing machine. The letters look very sturdy and strong since they take up about as much space as a square and are very bold. The space in between them is also comfortable and gives the feeling that something could flow between them. This works considering the water aspect of the machine. The little dot above the S does feel a bit out of place for me, but I understand that it's probably meant to make the letter double as a stick person.

Her visual aesthetic is very psychadelic and colorful, so I think this text works well. Plus it allows for the doodles in the same style to fit very well.

This is the cover of an Orla Gartland EP. I'm assuming that the typeface used is supposed to give a similar feeling of freckles on your skin. Every letter being lowercase is a must, but also the wide space in between each letter makes a big difference. The style of font is fairly simple with mostly straight lines. That paired with the square x-height makes for a good freckle feeling haha

Another poster from a show I love. Pottsfield is a fictional town in Over the Garden Wall where the skeletons of people who have died come back to life, dress in pumpkins, and celebrate the harvest season. The font used for the message above does have the same feeling as a postcard to somewhere distant. Something I find charming is how the bar of the "T" is connected to the next letter. It's playful.

Game Grumps is a gaming channel on YouTube. The logo is silly and fits the feeling of games and fun. Each glyph is a slightly different size and is squashed and stretched in different ways. The "G" and "S" in "grumps" being larger than the rest of the letters is also a nice touch in making the logo feel more complete and joined together.

I always thought Monster had cool design choices. I'm not a big fan of the drink itself, but I can really appreciate the font choice here and how it looks scratched in but still elegant at the same time. There's a lot of variation in each stroke and the serifs give the impression of entry/exit marks of a claw while staying consistent enough to look clean.

One of my favorite movies! The logo is already spooky and has the feeling of something paranormal. Each letter looks almost as if it were brittle planks of wood like how people board up doors in zombie movies. That silhouette paired with the tall x-height and sickly green color makes for a ghastly logo. I also like how they chose to make the "N" glyphs slightly taller to make the logo a little more symmetrical. Doing this also pronounces the main character's name, Norman.

This is from the box of an artisanal soap my partner from Brazil gave to me. The font used for "Viva o Sertão" blends well with the imagery used on the box. I feel like you don't even need to understand Portuguese to get the general idea they're trying to convey here. It's homey, floral, and perhaps handmade.

I'm going to compare this with another TMNT comic I have in #28 since they are so different. Here the logo clearly looks more dramatic. There is little variation among the letters and everything is straight, solid. You can tell this comic has a more serious tone.

This comic is older than the previous one I showed here. Immediately it looks much more playful and adventurous. The biggest indicator is the word "Turtles" which is full of fun shapes, textures, and greens. There is also much more color used here in comparison. In addition to that, the text for "Teenage mutant ninja" is presented in the same way as the fantastic adventure stories of Star Wars. There is a lot of movement and energy.
