Josef is anxious to grow up and that's a feeling I definitely know because I can't wait to grow up and drive and get to be more independent. I always want to be taken more seriously when I'm trying to have a real conversation with an adult and they laugh like I don't know what I'm talking about (and I might not), it didn't feel like they were taking me serious or listening to what I was saying and it made me feel inferior.

People might want to grow up because they want to be taken more seriously but I can see why you wouldn't want to grow up because maybe people might think your to old to be taken seriously. I was talking with my mom one day and I was around 6 or 7 and she didn't take me seriously because I was so young. When you get older you can start driving and bring yourself places and be more independent.

My cousin dumped my cards onto the floor and my aunt blamed it on me and when I told her it was my cousin she yelled at me for "blaming my cousin for everything".

what's more believable: a 3 year old dumping cards on the floor or a 10 year old dumping cards on the floor.

I want to grow sometimes but I also want to stay young I would like to grow because number one I would be taken more seriously and not looked down upon number two I would be able to do any more things because I'm older, but like I said I also want to stay young because I like being a kid and doing fun activities and not having to worry about anything. I was once looked down upon because I was telling a story and everyone thought I was lying just because I was young and they they thought just because I was young I did not know what I was seeing. I want to grow up because I want to feel more independent and more responsible and not have to rely on anyone anymore.

yes,this one time it was my fifth grade graduation cookout and someone ripped off my aunts license plate and she tried to blame it on my cousin that had been with me for the whole time every second,every minute,and every hour.So she came over there in my cousin face yelling and all I was trying to tell her that is wasn't my cousin so then she went to go tell my grandmother and so I went over there to tell her that my cousin didn't do it.So then my aunt started yelling in my face saying that I was lying.So yes I could relate to Josef about trying to be taken more seriously.

I can't relate to the feeling of wanting to grow, since I was small, I never wanted to grow up. I used to think and I still think that when you grow up your world becomes more grey and dull, so I never wanted to grow instead I wanted to stay as a kid forever. I also have a lot of freedom so I never felt like I needed more.

I DO want to grow up, experience different grade levels in life, graduate high school then college. Then I would feel more independent, overcome obstacles with only my help. I would have more freedom when I get my own house and decorate it the way I want. Get my own car and go to the places I want to go. One time I was sitting in my room, and wishing I could go hang out with my friends with no parents to take me there. With the freedom I would have growing up, I could do anything.

I'm in the middle of this situation. At first thought i want to grow up, i want to be independent, i want to be able to go anywhere or do anything without having to ask permission, i want to have my own house and i want to buy what i want without having to asking for money. I then think, well i don't want to buy gas or pay bills or have to deal with a job, i don't want to be responsible of a living organism, i don't want to wake up at 5 in the morning in ten years from now and be like "why am i still doing this?"

I have always not wanted to grow up, because it scares me. But I still want to be taken seriously even if I'm still a kid.

Last week my mom let me borrow her necklace. I gave it back after church. One night a few days later my mom asked me where it was, and I told her I gave it back. She thought that I lost it and was lying to her. I kept telling her that I gave it back. She was yelling at me and she told me that I could not leave the room until I told her that I lost it. She started saying that I could not go to the fun events that I had planned this week unless I admitted to taking it, so I told her that I lost it even though I didn't. She said I could not go the stuff this week because I lost it. I was really mad. I had never lied to her before. Last night she found the necklace in the crack of her jewelry box and, PUNISHED ME FOR LYING TO HER!!!🤬

Sometimes when people ask me "Do you play a sport" and then I answer with yeah I swim. The problem is people always just think that I doggy paddle across like half of the pool and come back. NO. I can ACTUALLY swim good but the problem is its not like soccer or basketball or running where I can just show people. A lot of people have a soccer ball, or a basketball or just a drive way you can sprint down to prove you can do things well, but for me? I cant just wish a 25 meter pool into existence and hand the person a stop watch. Im a pretty competitive person so when people don't take me seriously that I could beat people then it makes me kind of upset. Sometimes I wish I was older, like a high schooler who swims for their high school and then people see them as young adults and they take them seriously

I feel like I can relate in some way because I feel like all Josef wants is to be taken more seriously and have more freedom or more of a voice. One time I felt like this was on Sunday when I wanted to go hangout with Evelyn at Reynolda Gardens but my dad already had been driving around all day so he didn't want to pick me back up. In the moment all I wanted was more freedom because you can walk there from my house and I knew I could do it but he didn't want me walking late in the evening, all I could think about was how good it would be to be able to drive or to be old enough to go hang out with my friends later in the day or be able to go to the mall with my friends by ourselves.

One time I felt like I wanted to grow up was when my dog broke his leg and I could not see him because it was big kid stuff. This upset me because this person just showed up one day and started telling me I couldn't see my own dog. I did not see any reason for me not be able to see my dog.

I can sometimes relate to that because more opportunities are opened up, but at the same time, you have so many more responsibilities, like taxes, bills, kids (if you have any,) college (if you wanna go,) and so much more. A time I wanted to be taken more serious was when I "allegedly" stole money from my dad, when I didn't. (We later found out it was my sister)

I can relate to Josef about wanting to be treated like an adult, one time I went to a gas station next to my house and when I got back my mom started yelling at me for not being old enough to go by myself because its unsafe.

I relate to Josef because when I was younger I always wanted to be treated the same as my brothers but because I am the oldest I have more responsibilities and I was expected to do things like taking out the trash and doing my laundry at a very young age. I first started hand washing the dishes when I was 7. Because I was expected this much I just wanted to either be treated the same as my younger brothers or start being respected as an adult. I got my wishes granted. Now, me and my mom have a very close relationship, I raise my brothers along with my mom, stepdad, and grandma.
