These Witches Don't Burn is a Young Adult/Fantasy Fiction novel, by Isabel Sterling. It tells the story in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts of a teenage witch dealing with the normal drama of high school (like her ex dating someone new, figuring out which college she should attend, dating someone new), but also with the drama of a rival coven that may be coming to town to kill her and the rest of her family/coven.
If you are interested in the supernatural, LGBTQ characters, on your edge suspense of "What is going to possibly happen next?!" and mystery, this is the book for you. The main characters are relatable even though half of them have supernatural capabilities. This is the first book in the saga--it sets the reader up for a modern-day battle between supernatural forces.

The Hobbit is an adventure fantasy book about a hobbit and his dwarvish and wizard companions' journey to kill the evil dragon Smaug and reclaim Thorin Oakenshield´s ancestors' great mountain home. Bilbo Baggins is the main character. He is a hobbit, he loves his comfortable life at Bag end and he is proud to say he has never gone on an adventure. Hobbits hate change, it's not in their nature. On a sunny peaceful day, Bilbo is making smoke rings with his pipe in the front garden of his Hobbit hole. An old man in strange robes and a walking stick approaches him. They chat for a while and Bilbo reminisces about Gandalf´s fireworks. Gandalf (the old man) invites him on an adventure which Bilbo declines but a few days later dwarves begin showing up at his door spinning tales of great adventure and tragedy. I chose this book (I have read it before) because it's the introductory book to the series, lord of the rings which I want to read again.

For people who like fantasy, this is the book for you. The prequel to the legendary LOTR series, The Hobbit is a story about a hobbit (big shocker) named Bilbo Baggins. This story begins in ordinarily enough-Bilbo Baggins is an ordinary hobbit living an ordinary life. Nothing particularly exciting happens to him, and that's the way he likes it. Then, led by Gandalf the wizard, a band of dwarves land on the hobbit's doorstep (quite literally, or at least in the movie). The dwarves (and Gandalf) invite Bilbo to join them on an adventure, and though he is reluctant, he decides to go along with it. This adventure takes Bilbo in a lot of different directions, which I won't go into so as to not spoil the story. But I will say this. Bilbo ends the story much wealthier than he starts it, and in more ways than one.

The main character (Tsunami) is now adventuring towards the Kingdom of the Sea with her friends. She was quite excited to see her mother who was the SeaWing queen. Her excitement didn't go the way she expected. Her friends got jailed, then the prison that they were in started to flood. An unknown assassin has been killing the Queen's heirs for years meaning Tsunami may be the next target. I'd say that if you're into dragons and fantasy, then this is a good book for you. I'd also say this book is mainly for 5th-7th graders. Overall, I thought this book was okay.

In the book "Long Way Down", by Jason Reynolds, a boy named William tells a story about a very important part of his life. In this story, he tells lots of people who were shot and killed, and of those people that died were his brother. There were three main rules that everybody obeyed no matter what. Those three rules were one, no crying, two, no snitching, and three revenge. You had to follow these rules no matter what. So once his brother was shot his job was to kill the person that shot his brother. But could he do it? At the end of the book, you could create the ending. There was no end to it was your job to fill in the blank and create your own ending. This is like poetry but I do not know for sure. I'd say this book is for people that like violence and this was also a young adult book otherwise I will give this book a 7/10.

Artemis Fowl - Eoin Colfer

“Artemis Fowl” is the first book in the Artemis Fowl book series by Eoin Colfer. This is a young adult fantasy fictional novel. It follows the adventures of the ingenious 12-year-old Artemis Fowl, who dedicated his life and many skills to criminal activities. After some extensive research, he believed that he had confirmed the existence of fairies. With his loyal bodyguard, Domovoi Butler by his side, he kidnapped a fairy by the name of Captain Holly Short and holds her for ransom. He wanted to restore his family’s fortune and influence.

This book would be interesting for readers who enjoy the concept of antiheroes. Antiheroes are protagonists who do not display the typical or stereotypical heroic qualities of bravery, courage, and morality. This accurately depicts Artemis Fowl, who is driven by greed and lust for money and power, and he is most of the time devious and almost cruel. However, he seems to do this all with good intentions and fair morals, in which the readers would find themselves siding with him in the story. This book would also be enjoyed by the people who like fantasy, or fictional books.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPOILERS AHEAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book is about two migrant workers named Lennie Smalls and George Milton, who want to own their own ranch together, during the Great Depression. Lennie Smalls has a really bad mental disability that isn’t mentioned in the book, but you can tell by the way he acts and what he does. George Milton, is basically like an older brother to Lennie, who protects him and cares for him. There is a character named Curley, who is the Boss’ son so he has more power. Lennie kills Curley’s wife because he isn’t able to control his strength and his emotions. This makes Curley mad, making him want to kill and torture Lennie. The book ends with George shooting Lennie, after talking about happy thoughts, that they were going to own a ranch with animals. George only shot Lennie because he knew what Curley would have done to him and he didn’t want Lennie to suffer.
I would give this book a 10/10. I usually hate reading, but this book was really good and short. The genres include Novella, Fiction, and Tragedy.
I would recommend this book to adults and young adults. This book has some inappropriate parts in it including death and violence. People who like dark novels or movies will like this.

Death Note is a manga written by Tsugumi Ohba, illustrated by Takeshi Obata.
This story follows a teen male prodigy who discovers a notebook that grants power to the user. This supernatural ability is the "Death Note" in which the user can kill anyone whose name is written in the pages. Light, the MC, plans to punish evildoers who are deemed unworthy of life in his belief that the world will become a perfect utopia if they die. Many worship him, but some despise him for taking a person's life. Light has many obstacles he must clear in order to achieve a world where he is God.
I would recommend the audience for YA, the book depicts symbolism from the bible, dark themes, and there are some bitter parts. People who enjoy thrillers, psychological, and moreover an interesting plot would like this book.
10/10! I love this book, it has such a unique plot that keeps you hooked for every chapter. The characters are well-written, if you read this manga, you'll most definitely want to know the ending and how it happens.

I was reading a book, "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. This book is about a 16 years old girl named Hazel who had cancer. Hazel had cancer for 3 years and she met Augustus, a boy who's now in remission, and once had a tumour in his leg. Once they met, the two falls in love even though they knew that it will end quickly. Soon after, Augustus dies from cancer, and about one year later, Hazel dies too. Their lives were filled with love and happiness. It doesn't matter how long or short your life is. Even their life was short, I think it was beautiful and I don't think they regret it.

This book was about an eleven-year-old girl named Melody that was born a bit different from the others in her school. There are some things that she can't do for example she can't talk, walk or anything like that. But although she can't do any of those things she is incredibly intelligent, she could rarely show her intelligence because everybody underestimates her. Until her neighbor, Mrs. V recognizes that she is extremely brilliant. Melody becomes upset for being put in a special-needs class, so they remove her from there and they give her a chance to just be in a regular class and do the things all the other students do. They decide to hire someone to help her while she's in the normal classes. Every time she would take a test then she would always get one hundred percent and that's when they decide that she should go to a competition that shows on tv. She gets in the competition with some of her classmates and they all pass the first test but then comes the final competition that's a week after the other one. The day finally comes and she gets left behind at the airport. In the end, she finally realizes that she can do anything if she believes in herself.

(I'm going to be using the summary from my outline reading assignment)This story takes place in a circus with the main character as a silver back gorilla named Ivan who lives at a mall and video arcade told from his perspective.
Ivan has other animal friends that include an old elephant named Stella who is sick and in pain. He goes through a lot of things with his friends but he still wants to go somewhere with other gorillas because he thinks he is the only gorilla he will ever know. The mall almost closes until a new baby elephant arrives. At the mall the elephants are mistreated and Ivan and Stella don't like that another elephant will be hurt. Time goes on until Stella becomes very sick. The mall downplays her illness until she can no longer do the tricks, so doctors come to help Stella get better. In the end all the animals including Ivan go to a zoo where they are treated better and are with other animals.

I would recommend this book. It is very heartwarming but at the same time sad. Obviously, I could not relate to the characters who were animals. The ending is surprising and the book isn't predictable. I would recommend this book to a younger audience due to it's lack of complex vocabulary making it easier for those who are younger to understand the book better.
