The topic of the meeting between Trump and Putin is very delicate, and I think it is too for the whole world. During almost 3 years already we have been seeing active conflict between many countries and the leaders of this big nations are getting involved, I think that Trump agreeing with Putin is not that shocking since he is known to be different. My point of view stands with Trump that maybe the solution of Ukraine giving up its land is the best they can do right now since I believe otherwise it’ll turn into a massive conflict

this week i thought about how globalization is part of my daily life for example the coffee i drink comes from another country my phone was made in asia and even the bread i eat may use wheat that was grown far away i usually dont stop to think about it but all these things connect me to people and places around the world

on one hand globalization gives me more options and makes life easier but it also means that problems in other countries can affect me for example when coffee prices went up at the store i later found out it was because of droughts in coffee producing countries what feels like a small change for me is actually part of something much bigger

this makes me wonder if globalization is really fair people in rich countries get many benefits while workers in other places may not get the same it shows me that while globalization connects us it also creates inequality

in the end i see that globalization is not just a class idea but something i live with every day it makes me think more about where things i use come from and how my choices are tied to the rest of the world

today i read that drug shortages are now a global issue affecting millions in europe and north america these are not just small gaps but constant shortages of important medicine this made me feel worried and frustrated because people depend on medicine and it is unfair when it is not there especially for the most vulnerable i think we need stronger planning better supply chains and more cooperation so medicine does not become a luxury

at the united nations antonio guterres said the world is in an age of reckless disruption and human suffering caused by inequality and indifference he also pointed at conflicts like israel and palestine i felt heavy and a bit helpless hearing that so many problems are linked and so much pain is happening around the world i think these words should be a wake up call and leaders must take action instead of just speaking

the world health organization said 1.4 billion people live with high blood pressure but only 1 in 5 control it this can lead to strokes heart disease and death reading it made me feel uneasy but also motivated because many of these cases can be prevented with care and awareness if people act earlier and change habits many lives can be saved and health systems can be less stressed

today i read about a big peace summit in egypt where many world leaders met to talk about ending the gaza war and rebuilding, and egypt’s president said the plan might be the “last chance” for peace in the region (over 20 leaders were there and a ceasefire plus a prisoner hostage exchange was discussed)

on one hand i felt a bit lighter reading that people were actually in the same room signing things and not only making speeches, like maybe cooperation can be real and not just a word. on the other hand it made me nervous because some key actors were not even present and that reminds me how fragile any deal can be (reports said israel’s prime minister didn’t attend, and that the ceasefire still needs careful next steps)

this made me think about how peace is not one big moment but a lot of boring, careful follow ups, like homework you don’t see on tv. in the end i hope leaders keep choosing patience and i also ask myself what it means for me: maybe being less reactive online, listening more, and supporting groups that help civilians when politics gets stuck

last week i saw a un update that hit me hard, an estimated 676 million women now live within 50 km of deadly conflict, the highest number in decades

reading that made me feel a mix of anger and responsibility because we always say include women in peace, but the same report shows how often they’re still excluded from formal negotiations even though their participation makes peace more durable

on one hand it’s overwhelming to think about numbers that big, on the other hand it pushes me to notice the small choices where i can amplify women’s voices who i cite in school work, what organizations i follow, even what stories i share. in the end i don’t want to just feel sad , i want to practice the habit of asking “who is missing at this table?” and make space for them, because safety should not depend on your gender or your postcode

this week i read that more than 100 countries are lagging on submitting stronger climate targets ahead of cop30, at the same time a new piece says people’s sense of how serious climate change is may be fading as other crises compete for attention

i felt two things at once: frustration because delays today become disasters tomorrow, and also a small warning to myself because i can feel that same “i’ll think about it later” impulse in my own life. on one hand governments need to move, but on the other hand i can’t outsource everything to them. so i’m going to track one habit this week (less food waste at home) and one civic action this month (email our local rep about air quality and buses). in the end i think climate action is like saving money: small, boring decisions that only look powerful after time so the best day to start is not “when i have time, it’s today

A report came out saying the world is still headed toward a 2.6°C temperature increase, which is honestly insane considering how long we’ve been talking about climate change. I think it’s kind of frustrating because it feels like everyone knows what needs to be done, but nobody actually does it at the scale we need, Including myself ( I believe I could do so much more and I simply don’t. It’s like watching a disaster in slow motion and yelling at the TV.

Russia said it took over two small towns in Ukraine, even while Ukraine and other countries were talking again about trying to restart peace negotiations. I think this just shows how messy the situation still is. Everyone keeps saying they want peace, but the fighting on the ground doesn’t stop. To me, it feels like things move two steps forward and then two steps back and nothing really changes in a big way.
