I chose to do this theme because of the wide variety of different painting ideas and media I could create. Identity being my theme is very meaningful, I could create different art pieces that allow me to express my emotions and thoughts, and create beautiful pieces. I hope that I'm able to grab a lot of people's attention and bring awareness to some of the ideas circulating in some of my paintings, for example my immigration artworks. I created some immigration works that also tie in to my theme of identity which are meaningful to me and my story and hope to have an impact on my audience. Particular motifs and issues were explored through my artworks by creating emotion within my works. Because I was doing the theme of identity I created art that was very personal to me and used immigration as an issue in several of my works, to help bring attention to the situation. Techniques and tools were used to accomplish the work and create emotion using acrylic paint, photographs, and canvas paintings. For example in one of my arts i created a glass painting using acrylic paint and markers and surround the theme of immigration while also adding personal elements like drawings of my parents whom are immigrants themselves holding a baby, i also in the background included a mexican and hounduran flag that represent my parents and their birth land, overall i tried to create a sense of freedom and liberty with the theme of immigartion, and hope to make the audience feel safe and also make a certain group of audience relate and evoke feelings and emotions. en-us 2022-04-29 13:24:41 UTC 2022-04-29 15:43:56 UTC hello@padlet.com https://padlet.net/icons/png/1f58c.png jessicaargueta5236 https://padlet.com/jessicaargueta5236/xw35s09zmc3iiodc/wish/2164338747 Because my main theme of this art exhibition was to create pieces that relate to identity, I decided to create a self portrait of myself. I am not that good at sketching and using pencil lead but I went ahead and gave it a try in the hope that I will learn more skills and advance in this medium. Starting off I used materials that I had at home, in this case I did not have a canvas so I improvised and used the back of a cereal box which had a very smooth texture and helped with blending. It did take me around a week to complete the artwork because I knew that I wanted to make it look nice and show a lot of details.

This piece did take several days  to create but the outcome was worth it, it has such a great meaning behind it showing the love and beauty within every body shape and color which is ultimately the message I tried to convey. In every piece of art I create I like to put my all into it and create work that I think has a huge impact on people. In this case I incorporated a pink background with seven different bodies that were all different and included the words above saying “ Beautiful” in purple glitter.

Because of the minimalistic feel it gives off while still having a very meaningful message behind it which can inspire a lot of people. When i first got the idea of creating this piece i immediately got to working on it the next day, i started by first sketching on the body out multiple times til i got it right , i then mix multiple colors to try and get a pink tannish color and once i got my desire color i painted two layer in the background and added a bit more white paint to that premixed color to  get the right shade for the women bra and underwear. Overall this piece was very easy to create compared to the other paintings and I love it so much and even have it hung up in my room!

I love to create art pieces that have a very beautiful background and main focal point. I also really like the color pink and so combining all these elements together made me create a beautiful painting. I first created this piece by doing a lot of pencil sketching and from there I created a vibrant pink color by mixing colors to get the correct shade of pink I desired. The main focal point was the two people present in the image in which I then drew on a bare tree  to create a sort of symmetry and balance in the art work.

I also included a big bare tree along with a grassy background and mushrooms. The background of the art piece was created using different shades of purple, black and white with hints of glitter to fit beautifully into the fairy theme. This is probably one of my favorite pieces I have ever created because of the amount of time and effort I put into it. I remember doing a lot of sketching and having to constantly go back over it because I wanted it to be perfect! It took 10 days to complete the art work and I absolutely loved how it turned out!

Overall I loved how the art turned out to define vibrant colors and sharp dark lines. The message behind the piece is very meaningful to me considering I got to include aspects of my life and include my parents along with some symbolism. For example I painted the woman and man to look like my parents and included my parents national flag where they are from and drew a butterfly which symbolized new hope and change to fit in the theme of immigration within my parents.

I wanted to create this work because I'm from Los Angeles and although me and my family do live in Texas now, we are always constantly visiting California. I remember taking these pictures when I visited, and they are currently my favorite. The images show the beautiful palm trees and california skies, there are also other pictures of the santa monica sunset beach and sign. I used several photoshopping apps and edited the pictures to make them have a more beautiful look to them which at the end i loved.
