When teachers are consistent in enforcing procedures, those procedures turn into routines (for example, entering the room in the morning, hanging up bookbags, morning work, etc.). Therefore, this creates an orderly and positive classroom where students know what is expected of them.

One way I would promote positivity in my classroom is tell my students directions of the certain activity we are going to accomplish. Tell them the end outcome. Throughout the way I would make comments on what good of a job they are doing and remind them of the end outcome if they aren't on track for that. Don't say things to bring them down just say things to make them feel good and get them on track.

I think it is important to remember that everybody is bound to make mistakes, and that making mistakes is okay. They are going to happen. Encouraging students to keep trying even when they mess up or get something wrong is a good way to promote a positive environment with high expectations, because the teacher is expecting them to continue to try even when they make a mistake through positive praise. I remember something being mentioned about a teacher putting a +2 at the top of a paper instead of a -18, and it's things like that that I think are positive ways of encouraging students to keep trying.

Building a trusting relationship with you and your students opens the door for them to trust each other as well. Making sure students feel as if they are safe physically and emotionally is key. You can do this by sharing stories or connecting yourself to things that your students have a direct connection with. If they find that you can relate to them you will be able to maintain the authority in the class and be in full control. Students of all backgrounds are most times going to be comfortable around family, so making your classroom an extension of their family can help build relationships from student to student. With this classroom dynamic, you will not have to be the only one teaching and your students will be comfortable enough to help and receive help from one another.

from the very first day with your students it should be made apparent that you are committed to changing and formulating to whatever it is they may need to excel. As well as making it verbally clear that any actions of being off task or distracting will only harm ones own ability to learn and keep up with their peers. Reinforcing discpline and respect must come along with care and change to not become viewed as a walk over. the students must know that your word is final and absolute, but also know your word only has pure intent

it is just as important to be in control as is it to make the student feel in control. by showing a student how to do something they can replicate it, but by asking a student to explain it to you they can now pass along the knowledge. it takes more than teaching 2+2=4 it takes knowing why such is so and being able to cordially express it back. this is done through ensuring you offer the chance to speak to the child one on one and ensure they are okay and following along

One way I would show positivity in the classroom would be staying organized and on top of things. This shows the student that the teacher is prepared to teach. I would say it all starts with a positive threshold before the class starts. For me, teaching high school, a positive threshold could simply be complimenting a student for a game they played really well in, or something of the like. The options are endless.
