To make long story short: I started as peer to peer leadership trainer far far away on the north, then I started to work with more NGOs,using NFE methods nationally, then Internationally and here I am, in the South of Spain being a freelance trainer:-)

I participated in my first non-formal learning training in Cyprus while volunteering for the first time through the European Volunteer Service (EVS) program. I felt immediately that I was in the ideal location. It is impressive how quickly a group of strangers can bond after only a few days together. I learned the most from stories of my heroes and meeting them, like Judith Snow, Michelle Mason, Helen Keller, Haben Girma . They told me you can achieve a lot with perseverance and not believing the common discourse on disability. That you can contribute to society with your wisdom and experience.

I am involved in preparing the summerschool of ENIL (European Network of Independent Living) coming June.

I like to learn about writing humoristic texts, short, creative and inspiring. A bit like the Black Lives Matter movement or the Hip Hop movement.

I first heard about non-formal education at the age of 17 when I became a summer camp leader. I then wanted to continue to learn more about the subject. I went on an Erasmus in 2018 which allowed me to learn more about myself and to follow a master's degree that could really correspond: Socio-cultural animation and permanent education with the option of project management. I loved my master and the teachers I met. It was therefore natural for me to continue my professional life in this direction, first in Rome for a year in an NGO and then in Brussels with EFIL.

My way toward NFE started at the age of 6 when I joigned the scout mouvement. Being a scout for 16 year shape me as the social and easy-going person than I am today. Initially, I wanted to become a social worker and then redirected myself as a youth worker thanks to my volunteering time at the CISV, AFS/EFIL.

I am a human rights researcher. I think that as part of the academic work we are communicators by nature. We don't want that our findings just to write for the sake of writing. At the same time the academia and its jargon can be intimidated. This is one of the reasons I started getting involved volunteering for the Red Cross and taking part locally in NFE projects. I have also attended workshops in this subject

In my case, the story of non-formal education is based on doing a job for which I was not certified, thanks to the competencies I acquired through non-formal education.

I'm involved in ”Gender equality and social inclusion“. That is an international partnership project for the skills development of participating youth workers/leaders and providing them with innovative approaches and tools in the field of combating all forms of discrimination and promoting gender equality.

At this training, I expect to meet people with different habits from me and to pick up all the good habits from them.

My story starts in juny 2021 when I participated in a Training course on essencials of non-formal education organized by TEJO (World Esperanto Youth Organization); In september 2021 I was elected team leader at the training pool of TEJO; In november 2021 I was for my first time a trainer in a project called An Alternative Approach to Human Rights Education in Denmark, It was the start line for a non-stop participation both as a trainer and as a formant in various NFE study sessions amoung Europe! My NFE story started with being a participant in a youth exchange and never wanting to get out of this area after realizing the change it brought out in me compared to all my formal study experiences. Especially after joining a study session of CoE, I was so inspired and decided to try to promote human rights and equality and environmental awareness through empowering youth with NFE projects. This led me to first become a member of the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network and after founding a youth NGO.

I first met NFE when I was 18 and took part in a youth exchange in Finland as a member of a folk dance group. I fell in love with the vibe and the intercultural aspect.

For many years I was "just" a passionate participant, volunteer, coordinator in different settings such as youth exchanges, trainings, volunteering projects, etc. Than I became the president of an NGO and slowly my passion became my profession.

At 16 I joined my first Erasmus exchange and was amaze at the effectiveness of NFE methods to connect people and learn at the same time. Since then, I've participated in workshops in the Slovenian and international setting. Addditionally I completed three T4Ts and performed several workshops and training myself for the Association of Psychology Students Slovenia and the International Youth Health Organization.

It's actually a love story! Being a neurodivergent learner and only getting my ADHD diagnosis very recently, I never quite understood why it was so difficult for me to study in school. I did well, my grades were excellent, but it was also seemingly too hard in comparison to my peers.
When I attended my first youth exchange in 2009, I felt like something not only clicked in my brain which was finally in a position to creatively solve tasks, but also something happened to my soul. I felt so grateful to finally have found a way of learning that made sense to me, that I could understand and thoroughly enjoy! I kept seeking out youth exchanges and training courses until I started as a trainer myself. It's such a gift to expand the joy I experienced to others as I see how much it's needed to accommodate learners with such a plethora of different needs. Non-formal learning changed my life <3

The way started in 2021 with local Ukrainian organization by creating and implementing projects on Political Ecology, Green Economy and Feminism and has not stopped yet.
It went througt participating and preparing study sessions, regional and cross-regional meetings, and webinars for green youth from Eastern Europe and for Westerner partners :)
During the war it became much more complicated, but there is still a chance for future in which i hope to continue this journey with new people, knowledge and competences met and gained here!
