I am King James I and I am the first Puritan King who took over after the Great Queen Elizabeth. I was the first King of England to translate the bible into English, calling it the King James Bible. I was honored as the namesake for the new English settlement in our newly acquired land of America. We named it Jamestown.

Charles I ( 1625- 1649 )

I am King Charles I and as king, I also believed in the divine right of kings. This belief caused me to have conflict with the Parliament over taxation, religion, and governance. This provoked me to dissolve the governed body without authorization, flooding this into the English Civil War. My forces were named, "Royalists" or Cavaliers, my opposition being led by Oliver Cromwell and called the Round heads. The result of this war was the end of the Royalists, my defect being the cause of my execution for treason against my country.

Oliver Cromwell (1649-1658)

I am Oliver Cromwell, and I was a military leader during the English Civil War. After the death of Charles I, I was honored with the title, "Lord Protector". Giving me the responsibility to rule England until my death. During my time, I abolished the monarchy and established the Commonwealth. Most people commonly know me as I played a major part in the execution of Charles I and ruling as a military dictator for England. Another thing is that I led the conquest for Ireland and Scotland and tried to use the name, “dominate European Power” for England.

Charles II (1658-1685)

I am King Charles II, During Cornwell’s time as King— I was exiled to France by his word for the threat I posed to the throne as Charles I’s son. When Cornwell passed, I quickly took back the throne and restored the monarchy. I committed to heal the country that was deeply impacted by the Civil War. I had a deep passion for the arts and science and revolved the country around popular pastimes, also pursuing a policy dedicated to religious tolerance named, “the Declaration of Indulgence.”

James II (1685-1688)

I am King James II and due to my religious beliefs many refused to rule to me due to England being majority Protestant. I received much backlash that involved me being Roman Catholic. I was overthrown peacefully and it consolidated the Constitutional Monarchy, laying the foundation for the English Bill of Rights. It caused the monarchy to get limited power.

Queen Mary ( 1688-1702 )

I am Queen Mary, the daughter of James II. Unlike my father whom was Roman Catholic, I was raised to be a Protestant. I married my first cousin William of Orange, who had the royal status of being a Dutch Prince. We became queen and king after my father was overthrown as a Protestant alternative. During my time, I started the Constitutional Monarchy. I was known for passing the English Bill of Rights that limited the monarchy.
