It can be a marine sanctuary, estuarine research reserves, ocean parks, and marine wildlife refuges.
Crystal Coves mission is to inspire and educate the people of California on marine mammals. Also, protecting nature's most natural resources. Crystal Cove is a MPA dedicated to protecting marine animals and their habitats.
Link
Link

The kelp forest can only flourish in temperatures between 42-72 degrees F. Also the water must be very clear so the sunlight can reach it. If the temperature is warmer, the kelp forest cannot flourish.
To test this we used a thermometer and used a Van Dorn bottle to get water. The percentage of the temperature at 0 meters is 15 degrees celsius and 59 degrees fahrenheit. At 6 meters 14.8
Link

Using the Van Dorn bottle, we put the different type of sea water in a cup to test the salinity. Which matters to the ocean, mammals, and other life. If the salinity is high, then the more dense the ocean is and will sink underneath less saline. The salinity percentage at 0 meters is 32.5 ppt. At 6 meters it is 31 ppt. At 12 meters is 32 ppt.
Link
