Zach's first song I discovered is called " I remember everything." His song gives me the emotions of a lonely cowboy travelling through the field. As a country music singer, his music is not like others. For me, I've been listening to lots of country songs. But most are about how a cowboy falls in love with a girl. But Zach's music is sorrowful, telling about the relationship with family and friends. My favourite song of his is "Tishomingo." One of the lyrics says, "So won't you pray for me tonight, I've been headin' down the dark, cold road." A person is leaving loved ones to hit on the road to pursue his unknown future.

I was shocked when I found out this trio band is from Australia.
In my head, most of the indie music bands are from America or Britain.
These three young men sing out the emotions that lead me to the countryside of Australia. I feel like I'm a part of this land. In one of their song, " California." They use Banjo, and in the live studio record, they use the Australian indigenous instrument "Didjeridu." They separated their music from another indie band. Combine the local culture.

I first discovered the Lumineers in 2012 when they released their first album, "The Lumineers." It was over ten years ago, and I was deeply attracted by one song, "Stubborn Love." For me, their music brings out the free soul and spirit. They only use simple instruments, acoustic stuff. But pieces come with full emotions. Before the Lumineers, I just listened to pop music or the random music I found on the website. It was my very first indie music experience. The drum beat drops, and my soul goes miles away to the places I've never been.

Jeremiah Fraites (the piano player of The Lumineers) says, 'I remember it was probably influenced from my older brother and probably some of my parents, but maybe even more predominantly my brother. It was listening to Beethoven and I think he listened to Mozart and we used to argue about like, you know, who was better and whatever. I don't know what grade that was, but then eventually it was listening to his music he was listening to, which was AC/DC, Pink Floyd and Guns N Roses. And he played a lot of guitars, so I can remember listening to him playing “Welcome To The Jungle” trying to learn that on guitar, learning Pink Floyd guitar solos. So then I was into that type of stuff. And then I think one of the first two albums I bought was Bush’s “Glycerine” or “Sixteen Stone” that had that song, “Glycerine” on it. And then the other one was probably like Puff Daddy's, “No Way Out” which I think was the edited version.'
(Barney, 2020)
