There is a mysterious lamb which is not a correct rendition from the bible. Also John was not present at the crucifixion.
Jesus is deceased, Mary Magdalene looks as if she has hope, Mary looks sad, John looks as if he knows what is going to happen. Clopus looks to be consoling Mary.
They are mourning Jesus' death and expecting and accepting what is to come next of him.
Jesus is getting praised because He is the savior just as John's main theme depicts.

The Morning of the Resurrection

This piece is titled The Morning of the Resurrection. It was exhibited at the Grosvenor Gallery. The artist of this piece is Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones. It was made in 1882. The painting is an accurate depiction of the bible story. It shows two angels seated at the head and feet of where Jesus' body once lied. It also shows Mary Magdalene turning to look back and seeing Jesus standing behind her. The painting stays true to the story and does not add in anything or take anything away from the original verses. The only thing possibly different is the appearance of the figures. The angels specifically are the artist's interpretation of what they might have actually looked like. The angels are portrayed as very calm and natural. Mary looks mildly frightened or sad. Jesus is standing up above everyone else, showing that he is still alive and the true king. Mary is hunched over and appears timid. The angels are seated and have their focus on Jesus. Mary looks a though she might be in motion and go towards Jesus as she starts to realize his identity. The message conveyed in this painting is that Jesus is all powerful and has reign even over death. We must place our faith and trust in him. This picture does a good job capturing the scene that is depicted in the bible, but in our opinion does not completely demonstrate the true emotions at this scene as Jesus and the angels do not appear as powerful as they could be. It does, however, show that Jesus is the true savior and describes how we should place our faith in him and in the Word of God.

Located in Neues Palais, Potsdam
By: Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio
Approximately created 1601
The image depicts perfectly when Jesus comes through the doors, when they are locked. It shows when Thomas finally believes.
Thomas is in the motion of sticking his finger into Jesus' side and Jesus is helping do so, in order for him to believe. The two other disciples were stunned at what is happening and are watching Thomas invade Jesus.
The piece tells us that as humans we often only believe things if we see, feel, or touch and will have doubt until we have done it.
It does not really capture John's theme for the gospel. This piece does not really show a savior.

Jose
The piece is titled Christ Washing the Feet of the Disciples. The 201 x 164 cm piece is located in Szépmûvészeti Múzeum. The piece was created by CAYLINA, Paolo the Younger around 1535-40 AD. The picture describes the story accurately for the most part. They picture was paying attention to the detail of esus removing his outer clothing and wrapping a towel around his waist. The disciples in the background are shown conversing with each other in confusion as Jesus washes peter’s feet. This picture conveys the recurring theme of Jesus being a servant. When you kneel you become unequal to those who are standing.

Title: The Sorrowful Mother
Location: The Brooklyn Museum
Artist: James Tissot
Date: 1863-1902
This image portrays that Jesus is telling the Beloved Disciple to take his mother with him since he is going to die. The other women, Mary Magdalene and Mary, cry under his cross. This image doesn't show the Beloved Disciple taking Mary to his home. The people show emotion in the image with Mary Magdalene holding the cross, begging for Jesus not to die, Mary also trying to go to the cross, and Mary the sister and the Beloved Disciple unwillingly holding Mary back. Mary Magdalene is static while the rest of the people are in motion. The spiritual message this image conveys is the mother of Jesus watching her son die in front of her because of a horrible act. All women cannot accept the fact that Jesus has to die for sin to be forgiven

This piece titled " Crucifixion"was created in 1410-1415 by Hermann Shadeberg. It is located in the Unterlinden Museum, in Comar France. This image summarizes the passage of the bible when Jesus was pierced. It feels although that nothing is missing but I feel like that the sheer amount of people gathered is exaggerated. There are about 16 characters in the image with most of them showing some amount of grief due to their heads being tilted and an awkward stance, but some are just standing there almost not feeling any emotion such as the men in red. All of the characters seem to be in motion in this art piece. We believe that this image conveys that many people felt grief during Jesus's death but the Romans (whom I believe is in red) showed little to no remorse. The word of God is to an extent shown here because most of the people are showing grief and that shows that they at the very least cared about Jesus.

This picture is is almost perfect to match the biblical story, it shows the pain of his mother’s face and and the desperation in Jesus’ body and the pain he is enduring. Even though the disciple has not embraced mary into his arms, this piece accurately depicts the passage. Mary is standing as if she is carrying a large burden on her shoulders, her head falls with sadness marked on her face. John is praying for Jesus, even though you cannot see his full face, the way he stands shows that he would do anything for Jesus. The meaning that the image conveys is, that we should pray for ourselves so that our sins can be forgiven. We should repent, and do better with our lives, and lead our lives in the way Jesus would. The image captures the theme of despair and a loss of hope as the way John embraces mary in his arms.

This untitled artwork by William Morris in the Trinity Church depicts Mary bowing down to Jesus after seeing him resurrected. In this depiction of the scene, a shovel that Jesus in holding is added to justify why Mary may have confused him for a gardener. The tomb itself that Jesus had just left from the verse is not visibly shown along with the angels in that tomb. Halos in the form of circles are shown around Mary and Jesus' heads to depict their holiness. The artwork shows Mary's surprise and humility after seeing Jesus resurrected in the fact that she kneels before him. Jesus is seen pointing upwards as if he is talking about God and heaven like when he says, "I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God," in John 20:17. The artwork portrays the theme of John by the fact that Jesus is teaching the word of God to Mary. The date that the artist created this is unknown.

This artwork is titled 'Christ Washing the Feet of His Disciples' painted by Tintoretto. The piece is located in Museo del Prado, Madrid and created in 1547. In this artistic depiction it shows the disciples tying on their shoes after getting their feet washed by Jesus. Their faces look neutral and their bodies are in motion. Each disciple are pictured with haloes. This picture captures the main theme of the Gospel of John, picturing the disciples shocked is showing the theme that Jesus is divine.

The Jewish bystanders are not depicted clearly enough to decipher. While, the Roman soldiers seem to be acting out of hatred and heartlessness. Both Marys show a sense of grief and heartbrokenness as John seems to be protective of Mary, Jesus mother. All these characters seem to be in motion as so much is happening at once and the beams of blood and water create a sense of movement.

The title of this piece is "Jesus washing the Apostles' feet" By Del Parson. The location where this piece is unknown. The painting was created between 1548-1549. We think it is pretty accurate but doesn't express peter's reaction or their conversation. Some of the characters look confused as to why Jesus needed to wash their feet, and some of them look reluctant to letting him wash their feet. Jesus looks sorrowful or miserable. The message this image shows is that everyone is equal and no one with any amount of power is above anyone else or work. This picture relates to the theme of the gospel because the theme is Jesus is the word of God and when Jesus is washing their feet he is teaching his apostles more of God's word or opinion on how they should live.

Both blood and water are coming out of Jesus' body. This shows two theological meanings. First of all, if blood comes out of a body they are still alive, if water comes out, they are dead. This shows that Jesus is both dead and alive which in the end means that Jesus is going with his father but he is also here with us. He will never leave us and will stay with us forever, but he's also with his father watching over us. The other meaning is that this proves how Jesus is both human and divine. He is not just God's son but he also human and walked the same earth that we walk on everyday.
