The bomb weighed 9,000 pounds and had 26 million pounds of high explosives. The blast from the bomb was so powerful it permanently left the shadows of people and objects into the ground.

The USSR starts testing its first nuclear weapon. The name of this nuclear weapon was " first lightning" or "joe-1" . This marked the beginning of the nuclear arms race. This scared many countries especially the United States because they didnt know what the USSR was capable of.
