As a teacher, reflecting on mental health in schools involves recognizing the impact of a student's mental well-being on their overall learning experience. It's important to create a classroom environment that promotes emotional safety, open communication, and understanding. Being attentive to signs of distress, offering support, and referring students to appropriate resources can make a significant difference. Additionally, integrating social-emotional learning into the curriculum can help students develop skills to manage their emotions and build resilience. Remember, addressing mental health in schools is a collective effort involving educators, students, parents, and administrators.

We should recognize the impact that our learner's mental health has on learning and achievement, and realize that there's a great deal that can be done to help with mental health issues. Our speakers remind us some important lessons about mental health. Resounding those lessons may help us remember to be proactive about caring for our psychological well-being. It served as a brilliant reminder that our environment plays a significant role in our mental health.
Learning can happen in a wide variety of ways. As an educator, it is important to practice self care, it is just right to take care of ourselves in order for us to perform well and do the best for our learners, to enrich them with knowledge and skills and nurture them with love and respect. To understand learner's needs, use differentiated instructions to suit learning style of learners.

Taking the time to delve into the topic of mental health and stress management reaffirmed my belief that education goes beyond just academics. Our students' well-being is pivotal to their overall growth and success. As I strive to instill excellence and equity, it's clear that addressing their emotional and mental states is integral. By equipping them with the tools to understand and manage their emotions, I'm helping them develop crucial life skills that will benefit them not only in their education but also in their personal and professional lives.

Acknowledging that the team building activity was conducted exclusively for teachers prompts me to reflect on its alignment with my teaching philosophy. While my philosophy emphasizes students' connections and community building, this activity appears to focus inwardly on the teaching staff. While it's essential for teachers to collaborate effectively, I also believe that modeling collaborative behaviors for students is crucial. It might be worthwhile to consider involving students in future team-building initiatives, allowing them to witness firsthand the value of cooperative learning and community building.

In conclusion, while both the discussions on mental health and stress management and the team building activity hold relevance to my teaching philosophy, I'm prompted to reflect further on the execution of the latter. To truly cultivate a sense of community and equity among students, it might be worth exploring ways to incorporate student-led team building activities, encouraging them to take ownership of their connections and interactions. This adjustment could better align with my overarching goals for my learners, ensuring that they not only receive quality education but also actively contribute to the community they are part of.

I consider the session for today a meaningful one. I have realized the importance of teaching, learning, and the impact of someone in our lives. I have learned that teaching and learning can be considered a race. But, this time, it’s about who will cross the finish line, not who will cross it first. We must never forget that we are not measured in the beginning. It does not matter how weak, undetermined, or unmotivated you are initially. What’s important is that you have finished the race. You have reached your goal.

Additionally, mental health is an essential factor that we should have and adopt in teaching. I remember the story of a turtle who participated in a race. Everyone expected that the turtle would lose because he was weak and slow, and they couldn’t even imagine if he would reach the finish line. He surprisingly finished the race, and everyone was amazed by it. Little did they know that he was deaf. He is not able to hear. It means that even if we continually receive many negativities or distractions in our life, we should not be affected by them and should always keep on going. Lastly, I have remembered a bible verse that I can relate to our session for today. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, which gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see so that everyone will praise your heavenly father. All the learnings I had for today’s session align with my teaching philosophy. My most excellent philosophy is to influence others so they can realize how strong, talented, and worthy they are. All of us will finish and reach the finish line or the goals we always had.
