This stage begins at birth continues to approximately 18 months of age. This is the most important stage because during this stage when the child shapes his/her view of the world. The child will develop his sense of the world by the consistency, predictability and reliability of the care he/she received and the development of trust or mistrust.
I remember when my mother told that when I was a baby, I always cry a lot and so fuzzy, so they always pick me up and sing me a song and make a humming sound. Almost every time they will put me down, I will cry again since I am sickly when I was a child.

Erikson's 2nd stage of psychosocial development occurs between the ages of 18 months to approximately 3 years. During this stage the child develop a sense of control of her/his physical skills and sense of independence. Success in this stage will lead to the virtue of will.
When I was around this age my walking is not that good yet barely can balance or I fell a lot. But my mom said she always encourage me to keep on doing it and never give up even some kids laughing at me. She always makes sure everything is ok and that I can do everything. Thankfully I was able to walk although delayed compared to others.

Initiative versus guilt is the third stage of Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development. During the initiative versus guilt stage, children 3 to 5 years old assert themselves more frequently through directing play and other social interaction.
A healthy balance between initiative and guilt is important. Success in this stage will lead to the virtue of purpose, while failure results in a sense of guilt.
At this age I already remember my years I was in preschool, but my sister is always protective of me because of my health making sure I don't fell. So, interaction is pretty limited, I was still able to play just not a rough game. So mostly my game here is playing dolls or something indoors because I can't be in the sun for too long. My mother still made sure I can interact with kids.

Erikson's fourth psychosocial crisis, involving industry (competence) vs. Inferiority occurs during childhood between the ages of 5 and 12.It is at this stage that the child’s peer group will gain greater significance and will become a major source of the child’s self-esteem.
At this age I remember, my teachers always encourage and support me to join math, science and speech competition. They always give positive feedback because before hearing from my mom the positive feedback was different from hearing it from my teachers. So that’s when I started to gain confidence and telling myself wow! I am really good at these.
The accomplishments I received during this years really help boost my self-worth/confidence. And I remember until now one of my teachers, she talked to me when I was in grade 5 so about 11 years old she said, keep on doing this attitude be studious and you will do great.

Stage 5. Identity vs. Role Confusion

The fifth stage of Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development is identity vs. role confusion, and it occurs during adolescence, from about 12-18 years. During this stage, adolescents search for a sense of self and personal identity, through an intense exploration of personal values, beliefs, and goals.
During adolescence, the transition from childhood to adulthood is most important. Children are becoming more independent, and begin to look at the future in terms of career, relationships, families, housing, etc. The individual wants to belong to a society and fit in.
At this age, I remember it was a hard age for me because body changes like I have a lot of pimples and I feel so conscious, and that I do not fit in. During this time also my sister got sick we just found out she had cancer, so it didn't help with my personal struggles. I can't talk to my parents about it because we have something more important to think about. And knowing my best friend(sister) was going through a lot.
Everything in my life changes because of personal issues plus my sister's health. It was a lot to take in, but I was being supportive and we still finish high school together I helped her as she helped me before. At the same time, I am scared because in the end part my sister was losing it. I don't know what to do she was my strength and help me establish my identity.

Intimacy versus isolation is the sixth stage of Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development. This stage takes place during young adulthood between the ages of approximately 18 to 40 yrs.
During this stage, we begin to share ourselves more intimately with others. We explore relationships leading toward longer-term commitments with someone other than a family member.

When I was around 19 to 22 I lost my sister and my mom consecutively. So, it was a rough year. But thankfully I was able to move on and meeting my husband helped the pain. My most happy moments of my life I meet the love of my life. My first boyfriend and husband. Since I have a fear to have a relationship in the beginning so knowing my husband and how he makes me feel secure, love, and respect, that is all what I am looking for. I am so happy with my life now and blessed with 5 kids; 3 girls and 2 boys.

Generativity versus stagnation is the seventh of eight stages of Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development. This stage takes place during during middle adulthood (ages 40 to 65 yrs).
Psychologically, generativity refers to "making your mark" on the world through creating or nurturing things that will outlast an individual.
I am still looking toward this future and wanting for sure I want to give back to the society and be a productive individual. I want to be involved in the community activities or organizations and be involved with my kid's life and my future grandkids life.
For the future, I can be a productive one to be a mentor since I want to be a teacher. I want to be a role model to my kids, students and people surrounding me. I can also be a leader for instance do volunteer work to help the community and be productive in the society.

Stage 8. Ego Integrity vs. Despair

Ego integrity versus despair is the eighth and final stage of Erik Erikson’s stage theory of psychosocial development. This stage begins at approximately age 65 and ends at death. It is during this time that we contemplate our accomplishments and can develop integrity if we see ourselves as leading a successful life.
My reflection on this life I would say is to speak about the future. I think I will focus on not regretting anything and just be thankful. I need to live the remaining life happy and still productive and be with family. I want to be remembered not the kind of person that gives up in the end but live the last breath with full of life and happiness. I want to accept death without fear but instead I want to be a person that look back on my life with a sense of closure and completeness.
