The Costa (coastal region), the Sierra (highland region), and the Oriente (eastern region). Ecuador is most known for the Galapagos islands.

La Mama Negra is the second of November, and it is where a man that is born in Latacunga dresses as a black woman in a dress and rides on a horse through the town. Mama Negra represents the Mercedes Virgin. The Mercedes Virgin is worshiped in the region and has two vases, one filled with milk, and one filled with water, La Mama Negra shares the milk and water with the townspeople and with other characters of the parade. Another Holiday celebrated is the Spanish Foundation of Quito. It has open air concerts, and you could see the "Chivas" busses driving through the streets. December 31st is the New Year, in Ecuador families make life size rag dolls or paper dolls. These dolls are to be burnt at midnight in the streets and they represent the ending year. The doll could be a President or a known disliked person.

A tradition that Ecuador does is called 'Inti Raymi" it means Sun Festival. During this tradition on June 21st the sun reaches its highest point. It is the ending of the harvest season and crops like corn, beans, and potatoes are shared and a beverage made of corn called "Chicha" is also shared. A beverage made of cornflower, cinnamon, and berries is also made during Dia de Muertos. This beverage is called Colada Morada. There's lots of Ecuadorian music to listen to but some of the most famous artists are; Sharon La Hechicera, Julio Jaramillo, Mirella Cesa, and Olimpo Cardenas.

For Christmas Eve Ecuadorians will eat stuffed Turkey or Chicken, raisins, grapes, rice with cheese, salad, and Chicha. Some foods and beverages I enjoy for before Christmas are tamales, brown rice, ceviche con shrimp from my grandpa's restaurant, and horchata. During Christmas Eve Ecuadorians will exchange gifts on this day instead of Christmas day and share a dinner. On Christmas Day they will usually sleep in because of the party they've had the night before. When they wake up in the afternoon, they'll have a smaller party with their families, music, and food. For me on Christmas I'll stay up till 12 am and then open gifts with my family. In the morning
