The RDV Sportsplex is home to a variety of recreational facilities including both an Olympic and NHL ice rink; an ice rink snack bar; tennis, basketball, racquetball, squash, and pickleball courts; an aquatic center; a very large and well-equipped gym; yoga studios; group fitness rooms; physical therapy; massage rooms; a kid's care center; a Nature's Table cafe; a variety of corporate offices; member workspaces; and a variety of doctor's offices. 

The RDV is home to the Orlando Solar Bears NHL hockey team and was previously the practice facility for the Orlando Magic NBA team. Returning to the RDV today, I was struck by how affluent the place and its patrons are. The facility is absolutely enormous and seems designed to wow. It is unlike any other gym I have been to. I believe it is designed the way it is in order to create an all-in-one space for wealthy individuals where they can receive child care, go to the doctor, workout, and practice their sport all in one facility. 

I noticed several individuals walking into the gym in professional attire. I stopped one woman who told me she comes from work, drops her child off at the "Kid's Stuff", changes in the locker room, practices tennis on some days, and works out with a personal trainer on other days. She also mentioned she often grabbed lunch at the Nature's Table and had been to the eye doctor's office within the space on several occasions. 

Doing research and reflecting on past experiences, it is clear the RDV is composed mostly of wealthy people who enjoy exercise. The athletic club's primary membership costs $95/month. Looking at other gyms in the area, the YMCA costs $72/month, the LA Fitness costs $32/month, the YouFit's premium membership costs $25/month, and the Planet Fitness costs $23/month. The Primary Membership (age 18+) - $95/month
The Junior Primary Membership (18-26) - $68/month
The Golden Membership (60+) - $75/month

Additionally Small Group and One-on-One training is available. 

For 2-4 participants, 30 minute sessions cost $20 each/session and 60 minute sessions cost $36 each/session.
