         <description><![CDATA[<p>Why these systems?</p><ul><li><p>The muscular system is necessary for strength to move across shifting sands, to be able to dig for shelter, and to save energy when exposed to heat for a long time.</p></li><li><p>The integumentary system protects against the sun, preserves moisture, and balances temperature through skin and fur adaptations.</p></li></ul><p>These systems together enable the organism to move successfully and live in the harsh, dry climate.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Environmental Challenges:</p><ul><li><p>Intense sun</p></li><li><p>Dry air and restricted water </p></li><li><p>Shifting land and extreme temperatures.</p></li></ul><p>Adaptations:</p><ul><li><p>Muscular system: Enlarged leg muscles support the structural movement across sand and qualify tunnel. The Duneburrow Mammelisk saves energy by using slow, calculated steps and resting when the temperature is at its peak.</p></li><li><p>Integumentary system: The Duneburrow Mammelisk's thick fur protects it from sunlight and insulates against heat and cold desert nights. The skin beneath is moisture-retentive and resistant to abrasion from sand and rock.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Strengths of the AI output:</p><p>The AI was able to link desert survival to muscular endurance and integumentary protection. The creature's ability to dig and fur to keep the skin protected are realistic adaptations seen in desert mammals like foxes and camels.</p><p>Areas for improvement:</p><p>It would have been nice if the AI had spoken more about the sweat gland, fat storage, or skin pigmentation. more about how they survive in the desert. The muscular system might include slow-twitch fibers for endurance or joint adaptations and stability.</p><p>Course Connection:</p><p>This really challenged how to form the following function. The muscular and integumentary systems work together to support movement, thermoregulation, and hydration. It also highlighted how anatomical adaptations are shaped by environmental pressures.</p>]]></description>
