She received professional training at the World Wide College of Auctioneering and has since utilized her skills at live and silent auctions for galas, luncheons, fundraisers, and other charitable events. Groups for which she has auctioned include the Family YMCA of Los Alamos, the Robert O. Anderson Foundation at the University of New Mexico (UNM), and the Villa Therese Catholic Clinic. Most recently, Jill Cook was the live auctioneer for the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation’s (LAPF) annual fundraiser A Taste of Knowledge. The live auction was very successful, raising far more than the goal set by LAPF for the event. A real estate and human resources professional by trade, Cook serves as the manager of HR and operational effectiveness for Homewise in Santa Fe. In this position, she oversees recruitment for new talent, develops methods for retaining staff, and fosters methods for improving systems and processes. She is also responsible for implementing the company’s strategic plan. Her work at Homewise is augmented through multiple professional designations, including certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the HR Certification Institute.
