While Athena was bathing, Teiresias stumbled upon her nude body and as a result, was blinded by her. Teiresias's mother begged Athena for forgiveness and asked her to reverse the punshment. This is where Teiresias meets Odysseus, and lends advice on his travels to Ithaca. He was also know for having a sex-change as a punishment for killing a pair of mating snakes.
