         <description><![CDATA[<div>85-90% of people with pericarditis experience chest pain as a symptom, this is often a sharp, stabbing pain that will present suddenly.<br><br>The pain that you will experience will present in the middle or left side of your chest behind the breastbone, the pain can also radiate down into; the neck, jaw or arm similar to the signs and symptoms of a heart attack.<br><br>Other signs and symptoms which may be presented are:<br>Low fever<br>Weakness and fatigue<br>Trouble breathing (especially when laying down)<br>Palpation<br>Dry cough <br>Swelling in specific area such as; feet, legs and ankles<br><br>Your symptoms may worsen when you lay flat, take deep breaths in or cough or swallow.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Also appropriate management should be considering essential referrals for expert opinions so if needed transport to the nearest ER for this to be made optional.<br><br>One drug that can be given to help with this condition is Colchicine, and NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen).<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>commonly caused by infection - viral, bacterial or fungal. viral make up 85% of cases and the viruses commonly include coxsackievirus, herpesvirus, mumps virus, and HIV. Bacterial is the next most common cause, TB and pneumococcus. fungal is the least common cause and is commonly only seen in immunocompromised hosts.As well as a bacterial infection pericarditis can be idiopathic, from an autoimmune disease, side affect from an MI, caused from trauma, high levels of ureaia in blood -uremia, cancer, side effect from medication, radiation induced, aortic dissection or postercardiotomy syndrome e.g. a patient recovering from a CABG<br><br>Aetiology? What changes in the body?<br>When pericarditis occurs this is due to the lining of the pericardial sac becoming inflamed, causing fluid to build up within and around the sac.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Everyone both women and men can be considered in the risk group of developing pericarditis, however younger men seem to be the more prominent risk factor.<br><br>Someone would fall in to the category of a high risk factor for this, if they have suffered from a previous heart attack. As well as other long lasting health conditions such as; kidney failure, cancer or TB.<br><br>Other risk factors included are; people who have immunity disorders, have hyperthyroidism or under active thyroid glands, history of radiation therapy, continuous dry coughs, Aids or HIV.<br><br></div>]]></description>
