Setups-Joel Lewis was very good with setups. For a scene of a views from the back of a car through the front windscreen, everything was removed from the back of the car, a 2x12 board was laid down, with a high hat and a camera on top and a jockey seat for the operator. Button microphones were used for the first time, inside and outside the car. This particular film noir had a 4 day schedule but was shot in about 3 hours.
